Etude House Banana & The Face Shop Lemon Candy Yogurt

Happy Sunday Morning all! :) What a really weird week. Felt like it was just yesterday I posted. Can't believe another Sunday has just arrived! Since it's Sunday, I have sunny colours to show you! ;)

The Face Shop Lemon Candy Yogurt, Etude House Banana

Etude House Ice Cream Nail, Banana (BE101)

Lacqueerisa: Etude House Ice Cream, Banana

Haha, I sure was excited when I saw this milky yellow shade in Etude House's Ice Cream nail collection. It was one of the shades that I've been hunting for. Besides, Etude House's newer range nail polishes have really nice formulas.

Lacqueerisa: Etude House Ice Cream, Banana

Etude House Banana (BE101) is a milky creamy yellow nail polish. One of my favourite yellow shades. Has a decent coverage with two coats, first coat is streaky though. Probably best with three, but in my pictures are two coats, with no topcoat. Application wise, smooth and satisfactory.

Absolute beauty! I'm pretty sure you would agree with me when I say this is a shade that's so beautiful you wouldn't mind rocking it just as it is or with nail art! ;D I think the name is really fitting too. Sure does resemble Banana yellow :)

The Face Shop, 04 Lemon Candy Yogurt

Hahahaha, see I told you it's only a matter of time before I get my hands on this. I love it's name, and the colour and mixes is just what I was looking for in one that's named 'Lemon'.

When I tried this nail polish in store, I couldn't help but wondered if it'd look great with Etude House Banana as a base for it. So here they are! Above pictures are two coats of The Face Shop Lemon Candy Yogurt over Etude House Banana. Totally not what I expected, though I'm sure they worked great together! :) I wasn't feeling too excited that day, rather more relaxed and figured I'd probably preferred to wear this colour on it's own.

Before I continue, let's talk more about the polish. The Face Shop Lemon Candy Yogurt is a gorgeous sheer jelly-cream pale yellow (slightly greenish) nail polish. Consists of lovely tiny and medium sized hexagon glitters in yellow-gold, copper and sage green colours. Above are three coats on it's own with no topcoat. You can see it isn't opaque and kind of streaky (acceptable level to me though).

Back to what I was saying... this shade and glitter mixes are just right to describe/portray the mood I have that day - cheery, relaxed and calmed. Really glad and grateful I bought this! The Face Shop Lemon Candy Yogurt sure is one nail polish that's both wonderful on it's own or layered. :)

That is all for today, stay tune this week to for a nail art inspired by ________?? Hahaha! Stay tuned to find out! ;) Anyway, do you also choose polish according the mood/feeling you're in?  o.O

  1. It's so hard to find nice yellows. Etude House Banana looks awesome. ^^ Topped with Lemon Candy Yoghurt, it has a much more playful look.

  4. Whohooo! Can't wait for your nail art design!!!!
Ok, ok, let's talk about the polishes first haha I was just too excited! xD
I like Etude's Banana a lot! It's such a nice yellow which can brighten one's mood immediately. Lemon Candy Yoghurt is a great polish as well. But I think I prefer them as they are and not mixed together. This greenish hint makes LCY really special and it suits the name (the lemon part).
Overall, two really nice polishes which I'd love to own as well. Thanks for the review, sweetheart!

  8. Hahahaha!! Oh believe me, I'm actually not much of a yellow girl myself! I used to... never wear yellow! I didn't think they look good on me. Yet, some few years ago, I saw a lot suitable yellows. Tried some on, I never looked back! XD I actually tried waiting for it to be discount or so..but just couldn't wait any longer! Besides, I hardly ever see TFS having great discount for their polishes anyway... Hehe, I'm glad you're liking them as well! And thank you so much! ^.^

  10. Hahaha, I hope to get it up soon :) Absolutely agree with you! Yeah, I very much prefer them as they are too. Mostly 50-50 about them together. I must say, I think they really did a good job at this one - everything fits! From colour to naming :D Love it when that happens! Aw, no problem! Sharing about polishes is why this blog happened! ;) I'm very happy you love them as well :D
