(Belated) Deepavali Peacock Nails

Helllooooo Monday! Today I bring you a belated Deepavali Nail Art. It is inspired by Peacock feathers. Hahaha, though actually I had wanted to attempt a Saree inspired one. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one that I was happy with and since I haven't try peacock feather nails yet, why not? :)

Lacqueerisa: Deepavali Peacock Nails

I was in a rush last Saturday, so I went for a really simple look. Not too bad, since I get to utilise more of my very beautiful Models Own Dancing Queen glitter nail polish :) Besides, I am loving how it looked layered over Lioele 24.

Lacqueerisa: Deepavali Peacock Nails

Haha!! I thought I'd cry when I try peacock feather design, but turns out it actually wasn't as hard as I thought it was. My first try (on the index) was a huge success. Feeling confident, I did the rest of my darker base nails.. lols -- those didn't go so well.. I still like the first attempt more. I don't like it when that happens, haha!! Come on, aren't we suppose to progress with more tries? What is thisssss??? Hahaha!!

Lacqueerisa: Deepavali Peacock Nails

Hoho~ And you may have noticed, I nubbed my nails. Accidentally nubbed them, actually. I was going to resume some swatching, but realised the nails have grown quite long and somehow I've grown to prefer swatching on not too long, and not too short kind of length. So, picking up my glass file (got mine from Daiso!) and begin the filing process.. now, here's a piece of advice: don't get lost in thoughts while filing nails. It is important to stay focus! -- I was thinking of trying stilettos nails, had quite a success in shaping my thumb and index, then I thought about round nails, then about straight chevron pointed nails, then... crap! I filed too much of middle finger's nail. So I nubbed them all! By the way, I accidentally have rounded ones for the darker colour and rather squoval nails for the accents XD How fitting! Hahahahaha!!

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this relatively short post. Not sure when I'd put up a new post. I'm trying to catalog all my nail polish in my stash and get those long overdue swatches done (may not swatch all but I'd try).

....and Happy Belated Deepavali to all my readers and friends who celebrates it!

*additional infos: the magenta and fiery red glitters were from The Face Shop Flash Flash.

  1. Love the peacock one. The index finger looks awesome to me. o.o As for different nails shapes, I didn't notice. xD I've given up trying to make mine behave for the most part. I'd make a terrible nail blogger. Lol.

My boyfriend's Indian/in India and he's been complaining about the noise from all the Diwali fireworks. xD

Oh my goodness sooooooo pretty!! The feathers are so detailed and delicate and I love the added glitter too. I totally get you about the things getting worse as one progresses in painting, I do not get how the first attempt goes great then everything goes downhill :/ Maybe it's overconfidence? :/ Haha and I also get you about filing, I always file too much or just...wonky :P I'm still trying to master getting all nails the same length lol :)

  5. Hehe, thank you!! Yeah, that's the only one I'm proud and satisfied of XD Hahaha!! More room for improvements, hopefully I'd have much better attempts next time ^.^

XD I'm not too bothered by the slight differences they have, I would be though if Christmas is way too near. But there's still time, so its okay XD Lols!! I seem to be able to have them consistently squoval most of the time, so I really want to try stilettos one day! Maybe not so soon yet. Hehe!

Hahaha!! Here, there were fireworks going on even until 4am @.@ hehe, but I don't mind. It's great to hear people having lots of good and merry time ^.^

  7. Thank you!! I'm so glad you love them as well :D The glitter there were from The Face Shop Flash Flash, I picked selected few from there with toothpick to place it on the peacock feather just to add something extra ;) I'm glad it worked out great ^.^

  8. Hahaha thank you!! Following your footsteps, making full use of glitters XD Omgosh, yeah I think its the overconfidence too! Really sucks when that happens -- but its okay too, something to laugh at XD hahahahha!!

Oh you'd get there soon! I did find it challenging when I first tackled that part, but it gets easier -- just don't get distracted! XD Hahahaha!! Ha, and I dare say I haven't master it either. Some days its successful, some days just meh.. but for most days it gets consistent and okay-ish.

  9. Great nails! I would never have guessed this was your first try, the feathers look awesome.
I also like to swatch with shorter nails, anyway, they'll grow long again, so not a biggy.

Oh, and good luck with cataloguing your stash I did that last year and took me soo long.

  10. Amazing nail art once again! I love the yellow, it's so unexpected! And the feathers look great, especially the one on your index (but I like the others as well). The first try is sometimes the best.
Haha and I totally understand you, I think that my nails are too long for swatches but well, can't help it since I don't want to cut them only for swatches lol
Oh dang, filing nails is an art. I still struggle with it sometimes -.-" And I don't like to do it for others, too afraid I'd messed it up >///< The rounded shape looks great though, so don't worry ^.~

  13. Aw, thank you so much Anhy! Oh you mean the lime green? Hehe, yea that's actually lime green. Somehow it always turns out a little more yellowish on photos *sigh* Hahah, true though, but it frustrates me sometimes. ):l

Eh, but for your nail shape, I actually think its perfect! And posing them with some accessories would be perfect too! :D Hahaha!! But I think I still like them squoval better. Still it is for certain I'd tryout stilettos nails! It is in my must do list! Just don't know when yet.. next year maybe. Hahaha!!!

  28. Thank you! haha but they're all grown out now! I still kinda prefer squoval shape. Ah, but I do prefer slightly shorter nails as well. Easier to do things and less risk of breakage! :)
