A Dramatic Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It'd be a rather quick post today as its also Chap Goh Mei of the Chinese calendar and that's a celebration that marks the end of CNY celebration. Anyway, I don't exactly celebrate this day. But I'd love to be spending time with family just before the season's celebration is over. I'll be heading to Grandmother's home later on. That would also mean, in few minutes time this nail art will be taken off. Haha, Grandmother doesn't like me painting my nails. So I shan't upset her during this festive season. :P

I did initially wanted to attempt a crossbreed kind of nail art, since I heard.. Chap Goh Mei is sort of like the Chinese's Valentines. Since it's not every year these two dates coincides. But inspiration failed me. I just doodle around with nail polishes, and this was a happy result of that.

Lacqueerisa: A Dramatic Valentines

A rather simple look. But I do love the result. I love the intensity and the feel that emerges from the look. Haha, besides, I already have a cute and sweet nail art up. So why not something dramatic? After all, our lives aren't quite drama free. Lols. :P

Lacqueerisa: A Dramatic Valentines

If you're curious how this came about, well... I stared at my sadly sheer metallic colours and thought, perhaps it would work making galaxy. So I took my sponges and dab the colours there. Not quite the kind of galaxy nails. However, it did look pleasing. Took one of my newly purchased Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Frazzle Dazzle and top over. Whoa I'm in love! But still, it feels rather empty. Add the heart just over turquoise metallic shade. Perfection!

Lacqueerisa: A Dramatic Valentines

So there you go, dramatic but lovely Valentine's Day nail art :) Hope you like it as well hehe. And I'm off to my destination. Wish you all a wonderful day and once again, Happy Valentine's Day! Or in this case, Happy Dramatic Valentic's Day!

  6. "Even though we live in this galaxy, in this universe which seems to be endless, we've found each other. Because that's our destiny. You and me are meant to be." Or "The galaxy is vast, there will be someone for you, don't give up!"
These are the 2 messages this nail art sends to me. haha Am I too cheesy? (Or you are since you made it xD) :D I think it looks great. I love your galady design as well as the little heart. They look so cute!
Hahaha and it's kinda funny to celebrate the end of celebration (the irony) but I like it. Not sure if vietnamese do the same since I've never celebrated CNY in VN but I will ask my family. Always good to know more :D hihi My grandma didn't like me painting my nails or wearing heavy make up too and I totally agree with you, better not angry her :) It's not a big deal and the least we can do for our loving grandmas <3 Hope you had a fun Chap Goh Mei ^.^

  9. Hehe, thank you! I'm glad you love them :D Somehow, these two colours always complement each other well. You know, I'm eyeing Glam Polish's She Had A Lipstick Taser! Just for the awesome colour combo. LOLs! Btw, I didn't liked the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Frazzle Dazzle as much at first. But now, I love it! So glad I bought it XD I'd do a review soon (or next month.. we'd see. lols!)

  10. Aik? I didn't quite intend it to look space-y. Though it did started off with that in mind. Haha! More of an abstract kind of stuff. No matter, I'm glad you are loving it anyway :D Thank you so much!

  11. Hahaha!! Well, it wasn't exactly meant that way. But I guess it could do as well. I'm glad you love it, Ana! Thank you so much!

  14. *sniff sniff* Eh?? no! I remember I remembered to bath! xD Hahahaha! Nahh, I was thinking more of... chaos of romance. Something theatrical (I think?) Like even after all the 'drama and chaos' they are still in love with each other. OK, so I guess its cheesy after all XD Hahahhaaha!! --- but, its quite an abstract depiction, so how I see it, free for all to interpret as how it speaks to them. :) Because in the end, how a colour seemed like to me, would seemed like another to different individual. Simply because colours affects each of us differently, and that's why everyone is unique ^.^

Haha! Well, there's actually a story behind the 'celebration'. Which we as Christian don't follow. To us, it was just a fun and warm gathering for CNY. There's a summary here: http://goo.gl/qVKPM4 However, I can't verify how accurate it may be as I don't celebrate the day as such. Haha, but yeah, who knows it could be similar too! Hahaha!

My Grandma's that way too! Well, they worry out of good intentions. Like my Grandma would say I'm damaging my natural beauty. In a way, it's not entirely wrong either. My nails stained yellow because of frequent polishing. And you are right! No big deal at all. Haha! We did! We had such a great time together and chatting the night away XD

Hope your day's been great too ♥
