Hauls from Australia Part 1

Hello! How have your week been? It is almost weekend (or already, if you count Friday as one). I do hope you are all having a fab time though! ;)

My Mom went to Australia for a really short vacation recently and she is sooo generous to have bought me tons of polishes from there! (Thank you, Mom!) A sweet surprised really. It was like receiving a nail mail! Haha! Well, sort of. Anyway, I will be splitting them up, swatching them by brands/types.

Kung Fu Blue, being part of the pastel collection, is a pastel sea-blue colour. This shade is really similar with Etude House GR605 which I've previously swatched and reviewed, but I'd assure you they aren't the same. Haha! Their finishes are different too. Etude House GR605 has a creme finish while BYS Kung Fu Blue is jelly finish. On my nails are 3 coats.

In Da Club is part of the Neon Collection. So, I'm sure that pretty much explains the characteristic of the polish. Haha! It is bright and vibrant alright! I do love them. I don't fancy the name as much though. Considering the colour and it being part of Neon and Blue, I am sure there has to be a better name than In Da Club. They don't even look good as a name, in my not so humble opinion. Hahaha! No, seriously. I think  the word "Da" really spoils it. What about Blue Strike? Blue Lights? Blue the Night? - haha! For the time being, I can't seem to think of anything else that could represent Blue other than the word Blue itself. hmm... Anyway, moving on....

Here's a little bonus! I've been aching to attempt one Gold and Blue inspired manicure ever since seeing gorgeous pairings (here and here, be sure to click them and check them out!) done by the very talented Mati from Criminal Nails! It's a simple skittlette haha, could you tell I got lazy after doing the ring and the middle finger? Hahaha! ;P The gold polish is Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle #10.

I have of course, saved the best for last! Here is my first ever colour changing polish! (aka, mood polish). I doubt it would still be consider a new trend, but I've never owned one and am excited like a little child being given a candy when I got this from my Mom! The colour is simply stunning! At first glance, I thought I'd dislike having them on my nails because...pink and I aren't  exactly good friends. BUT I am loving this shade on my nails right now! Three coats and finishes matte.

Here are two quick shots of my fingers dipped in a bowl of icy cold water and I decided to dip the half the bottle in the small bowl as well. It's just really fun playing 'in, out, in, out' and observing the changes. Lol. Also, this colour just seems so fresh on my nails yet so familiar. I couldn't put my finger to what it reminded me of - Barbie? Fairytale? Then I had an ear-worm moment. A song so familiar, a song I knew was from a fairytale story.. ahh! It was a song from Tangled, I See The Light. Watching the music video, no wonder. The colours of this polish resembles Rapunzel's dress so much! And I fell in love with this polish even more!

To sum it all up, Kung Fu Blue and In Da Club are quite tricky to apply for smooth coverage. Very glossy and jelly though! Glitter Purple was slightly easier. All three of them require 3 coats for complete coverage and opacity. As well as some time to dry. I do love the matte finish though! Simply stunning!

Have a great weekend!

    1. Aw thanks! But it wasn't tape. I used free-hand, tape is a little too tedious for me. :P
