Happy New Year, 2013!!!

Hellllllloooooooooo!!!! And as the title mentioned, Happy New Year everyone! Hope you're all having a blessed start!

As promised, I'm here (and on time!) to show you all the New Year's Nails I've been pretty excited about. Actually, its New Year's Eves nails. Hahaha! So, usually on every New Year's Eve, I'd be attending  the Church's Watch Night Service and have my countdowns there. It's not really a party-party event. But rather a time to reflect back on God's blessings and how He has guide us throughout bitter moments and sweetest moments of the year. There is no doubt that last year was quite a roller-coaster ride and time literally flew by for most of us, if not all. And since things were really picking up towards the end of the year (and the influence of glittery madness around blogger world!) I can't help but feel all glittery for New Year's Eve!

August Hauls

So, I went shopping yesterday. I must say, of all the shopping malls I've been to, Sunway Pyramid sure is my no.1 spot to go if I want to buy nail polishes (around Klang Valley). I've even spotted a couple of new nail polish brands available. Although, mostly are Korean brands; Holika Holika is one of the new beauty stores there - but no, I didn't grab any from there. I did try out their testers though, and find the application quite alright. I'm gonna apply the 3 days rule before I decide whether or not I'd buy one of the duochrome nail polishes there. Still its all good to see more choices available for nail polish consumers in Malaysia.

Okay, now to stay back in topic, I realised I've bought a lot of nail polishes for the past weeks of August! Which somewhat scares me, because I've never bought so many in a short time before! (haha!!) So looks like I'd be needing to control myself a little more from now on.

As you can see, some of them I've already used them in the previous nail challenges. But I've not swatch them. Only time will tell when I'd find the time to swatch all of these. Haha! Oh, I will be swatching a new polish from Etude House in my next post because I love it so much I just can't wait to share~!

Makeup Savvy Nail Challenge - Day 4 Galaxy Nails

I hesitated. Day 4 of the challenge is Galaxy Nails - the look that I've admired from afar, attempted twice and failed miserably. So, skip this? Yeah, honestly... I felt like skipping it. But the inner me says: do it! Come on, give it a go. You haven't try enough...

Thus, I took a look at my stash. I knew, I didn't have the right colours for galaxy nails. I guess I'll just have to make do with what I have and this is the outcome :

I won't lie, I'm very happy with how it turn out. My first Galaxy Nails which actually succeeded! Yeay!! And I love them!! I guess partially is also because I've achieved this using Saran/Cling Wrap style. Haha!! That's because I didn't have any make up sponges.

  • Elianto Sparkling Diva - Lilac

NOTD - The Quiet Enchanting Glitters

Hi! It's Monday again! Hope the Mondays Blues aren't getting you. Anyway, I have a review in store and then the NOTD.

The Review : Colour Combos CPE 203

Colour Combos CPE 203

It's a very sheer yellow, lilac and opal-like colour. I fell in love with this nail polish the moment I saw it. The identity of this polish is Colour Combos CPE 203. Such a lovely shade, really. I was disappointed though when I tried it on my nails it appears to me more yellow than more of the lilac shade.

Yeap, that's how sheer it is. So for today's NOTD, I have decided to layer it over 2 coats of Etude House BR307.

Today's NOTD: The Quiet Enchanting Glitters

These are just 1 coat of the ColourCombo CPE 203. Woohoo! Finally it looks more lilac-ish with hints of yellow gold shimmers. Finishing off this NOTD with Pretty2U glitter polish previously shown here.

After putting on the Glitters!

I love how they turn out! At some angles they looked like little glistering droplets of water of my nails!! Right, i called this look "The Quiet Enchanting Glitters" because I felt that though the Glitters aren't "roaring" in their sparkles, they sure gave me the feeling of a beautiful magical garden, that's hidden somewhere~

Do you like them as much as I do ? :D

Review: Pretty2U Nail Polish

Hello! So today I'll be reviewing polishes I got from this brand called Pretty2U. I got to know about them first at Pavillion Shopping Centre it's a  little stall near....I can't quite recall, either near Cotton On or above or below that level. Then last Saturday when I was walking around Sunway Pyramid, I saw a bigger stall of this brand at Asian Avenue, near the Digital section. They had this purple shade that I've been looking for and the price seems okay.

BeauKiss 09 Nail Polish Review
BeauKiss 09 MYR 19.90

This bottle is not exactly Pretty2U brand as you can see, but its sold there. And I love it! The brush is surprisingly soft and allows very smooth application. Its so easy to control I felt so happy applying it. On the pic, its 1 coat. Of course, you can always use 2 coats to have much even colour. They do have quite a variety of colours to choose from. I am so in love with this colour. Even on its own, it didn't look plain. Simply gorgeous!!

I'd definitely return to Sunway Pyramid's Pretty2U stall to look for more colours that may attract me. The bad thing is, I have no idea if this polish is free from the Big 3-Ts. I did ask the salesgirl there if she knows, apparently she have no idea either. (hmmm...) There are words written on the bottle but are chinese characters. I'm not chinese educated so I really have no idea what it says. The salesgirl spoke to me in mandarin (I can understand mandarin quite okay, just can't read or write; except my name). Hehe. Anyways, I do advice against using any polishes when expecting just to be safe.

Next, is the glitter polish I bought from Pretty2U stall of Pavillion some two months ago, which I am not very happy of. Its rather okay, nothing "WOW" about it.

Pretty2U 68 Nail Polish Review
Pretty2U 68 MYR 19.90

I wasn't very happy with my purchase at all. First reason because I realised the lady sold me a used bottle. But I only came to know about it when I'm already half way home. Lesson learnt: Always check the bottle before purchasing to ensure you are purchasing a new one and not something used. Second reason, this polish dries way too slow. I left it on my nails for 6 hours and its still not fully dried. Dipping into icy cold water didn't help either. While I wouldn't return to the one in Pavillion, I would return to the one in Sunway Pyramid. Plus, Pyramid have quite a number of nail polish outlets and at affordable prices which is good, for people with budgets like me. hehehe.

Here are the two colours I layered the polish on:

Lacqueerisa - Glitter over Purple polish
Pretty2U 68 over BeauKiss 09
Lacqueerisa - Glitter over Blue polish
Pretty2U 68 over Revlon Midnight Affair

I think I the purple one better. Feels rather new to me. Well, perhaps because I hardly wear purple polishes. This purple is just way too stunning :)
