A Short Notice

This is yet another short notice to let you know there's going to be a short hiatus (two weeks, maybe? or more) in this blog. A few other things in life are needing my attention at the moment, thus swatching or nail art will just have to wait (though, I'm really aching to do some so badly now! I'm even thinking if I should just squeeze in a few..) But I'd have to be patient and get my priorities settled first. Then hopefully!! I'll be back with some Christmas inspired Nails! (And a delayed tutorial, so sorry!) I can't.... oh no no -- Actually I love waiting for Christmas! That's has always been best experience for me over the years!! It just gets more and more exciting as Christmas Day approaches nearer!

See you around! ;)

China Glaze Swatches & Review

Hey everyone ♥ So I've recently (not really, few months ago) added 3 more China Glaze into my collection. They are not new nor latest, hahahaha! They are pricey here, so I will always take a long time to consider /decide before buying any colours. Oh be warned! This is an unexpected lengthy post ;)

Ahem, presenting the latest trio!

Red-Eared Slider

Lovely day to you! :) *Ahem* I guess I would keep the unpleasant post out of this week. Since it's been a rather good week. Don't want to "spoil combo" by having a sudden not-so-nice post. LOLs! So, last Tuesday, I was on my way out when found this little fellow stranded in front of my gate. :O

A Quick Announcement!

Hey everyone! Aww man, I've been horribly absent. I do apologise. I have been busy, planning future stuffs for the blog. Nothing big, just small stuffs. One of it will be a monthly guest post, where I have selected some of my favourite bloggers to add a touch of their flavour into this blog!

I have been very blessed to have met very talented bloggers, friendly, honest and from all over! Some of them whom I have quickly become close friends with! ;) Nothing to be enemies about when we're in the nail polish/nail art world, right? Hahaha!! Besides, their work are amazing! So it only made perfect sense to have this up, so I could share with you their awesomeness!

Yeap, as mentioned, it will be a monthly thing. I will be having Guest Posters here on the 3rd day of every month. So, why so specific? I hear some of you asking (either that, or my ear is itchy..). It was a random decision. Sort of like an impulse decision, but not really. I did think about it, over and over and..... *brainfried* - well, you get it. I just stick with the idea. Hahahha! :P

Okay, that is all for this brief announcement! I'm actually very excited about this! Hehe, hope you'd be looking forward to it just as I am!  :D

Stay tune!

1st Year Bloggiversary!

Hello Everyone! I almost missed my first year bloggiversary (actually I did. The blog went live on 21st June 2012..I kept thinking it was 29th...) Fortunately, today coincides with the date of my first post of NOTD. Anyway, as the month of June approached, I have been wondering what I should write or what I should post. It's rather unfortunate that until now, I still do not know for sure what I'd be talking about. I thought of maybe a 'then and now thingy' or could I talk about how 'far' I've come?

The Numerous Liebster Awards!

Good Morning, everyone! I'm very, very grateful to have been nominated multiple times for Liebster Award by numerous awesome bloggers themselves! Since I've done this award before I didn't want to do it again, because it feels kinda a little repetitive. But I am VERY grateful for all of you lovelies who have nominated me. With that said, I'm dedicating this post specially to all of you ♥

Complementing Squares

A BIG HELLO to all of you!! *Waves!!* I've been unable to post for awhile and I've missed sharing nail art and thoughts with you! I actually got them done by last Saturday, and believe me I was very eager to show you guys. Unfortunately, my computer has gotten so ill that it will not boot up to Windows anymore. *sigh!* No matter what I did, even command prompt isn't helping. During times like this, I wish I had a big brother to help me out. So, for the past few days I've been using my sister's laptop and all her other gadgets to feed my online needs (mwah mwah! Love you, Sis!). But, the laptop's screen has this weird blue/purplish tint to it. And a little too bright though I've set the brightness 0. Which has caused me to not wanna post from the laptop. I did a little googling about the issues, looks like it isn't an uncommon thing. Though I still don't know the proper way to solve the issue, I decided to "colour correct" the screen by using the calibrate colours function. It's still not colour accurate though, but hopefully the nails turn out to be alright and all.. haha!!

Urgh, the Unsightly Yellow Nails

Hello everyone. My nails been looking sad apparently my base coat isn't preventing doing a good job in preventing nails from staining like its suppose to. Its sad to see my nails have been stained pretty bad, or very bad (as how I'd put it). Because of that, I went on a hunt for a different base coat - at the very least, to find one that is able to prevent further staining (since I can't part with nail polish at the moment). Also the nails are really embarrassing to go out with, with its degree of yellowness. So after browsing through the internet, I've decided to try out Rimmel London's Whitener base coat - it claims to prevent discolouration. Anyway, I am taking this chance to mask my yellow nails as while waiting for them to grow out also to see if this base coat do prevents discolourations.

Warning: Really ugly/yucky yellow nails ahead!

"Summer" Favourites!

Hello all! First, let me explain why I highlighted Summer. Well, that's because Malaysia doesn't have Summer since its on the Equator (hehe). I've been privileged enough to be tagged by a very kind and sweet blogger from Colour at your fingertips! Thank you so much!

A very brief explanation about Summer Favourites Tag, its a really quick way to summarize the summer as well as a fun way to share each other's blog. So, there will be two parts to this tag. First part being the questions section on favourite products used during the summer and the second part sharing blogs we've come across and have become our favourites!

The 10 Questions :

1) What has been your favourite glitter polish this summer?
Hmm, its probably Etude House PBK 801, but its not a summery sort of glitter polish. Its much more suitable for Fall/Halloween. Hahaha.

2) Have you preferred to wear brights or pastels on your nails this summer?
A little bit of both, but if I have to choose one, I'd go with bright colours since pastels don't go too well with my skin tone.

3) Have you discovered a new brand of nail varnish this summer?
Yes, Bandi Nail Polish and Tip Top Nails South Africa. They are both free of the harmful chemicals. Bandi's nail polishes tend to be rather sheer and Tip Top nail polishes are very pigmented. Both are awesome to use and fuss free :D

4) What is your most disappointing product of the summer?
White nail polishes. The ones I usually use was The Face Shop's and Skin Food's white nail polishes and both are streaky and sure gave me a hard time that I frown every time I feel I needed to use white colours. Recently, I've purchased a new white nail polish, BeauKiss(BK) 02 which is no problem so far except that I do not like how it smells. LOL.

5) What has been you favourite blog post of yours this summer?
The one I did on the last day of Makeup Savvy's nail challenge; Makeup Savvy Nail Challenge Day 15 - Anything!. I really do love how the galaxy nails turned out.

6) What's your best nail bargain of the summer?
There were mega sales during the month of August. I manage to get two Etude House glitter polishes for the price of 1. I think that's a pretty good deal. :D

7) Have you followed any new trends this summer?
Not sure if they can be considered new, my answer is definitely the new found love for gradient nails and galaxy prints! I'm pretty sure sandwich nails comes in next!

8) Have you tried any new colours this summer that you never thought that you would?
Well, this "summer" no. Most of the colours I tried on were colours I knew I'd wear one way or another. But in the month of May I've actually worn a bright fuchsia colour (The Face Shop PP402) which I never thought I would.

9) What has been your most worn combination of colours this summer?
Ah, I think its yellow, red, coral and teal.

10) Will any of your summer polishes be following you through to the autumn?
Perhaps. Usually my colour choices varies and are mostly influenced by what mood I'm feeling or what colours are inspiring me to use them. So it really depends.

And for the second part of the tag, I am to share about blogs I've discovered during the summer be it a new blog or old, big or small with a few words on why I chose these blogs to share with you all. Without further ado, I'd proceed with my list (they are in no particular order):

More Fun Stuffs about Glitters

Good morning! I have here some knowledge about glitters which I think are very worth sharing. Have you ever had times when you wonder if it is your application technique or the glitter bottle just holds too little glitters? Well, I know I did wondered that. And off I go to google - tap tap tip tap tap pap! what is the best way to apply glitter?

Oh what a realization moment dawn upon me when I saw the dabbing technique. No wonder it was so hard getting those glitters on my nails those days. I was probably doing it wrong! Perhaps not wrong, just not the best way it could be done. Here's one tutorial I find very useful regarding the dabbing technique:

wait, did any of you actually know of this method and no one told me? whyyyy?? *sobs*

Let Happiness Ring!!!

Well, most of you may not know but just few weeks ago I was blessed enough to be one of the four fortunate people to win Gold polish from Tip Top Nails South Africa. Last Saturday morning, I've finally receive my gift!! How thrilled I was as I unwrapped the carefully packaged gift. I opened up the box, carefully slitting the sellotapes and pull out the polish bundled up with perfect care of bubble wraps and as I started unwrapping it - "wait...what? this feels like... omgosh, am I dreaming..?"

No, my good senses did not fail me. Instead of 1 gold polish, I've been surprised with 3 more polishes that greeted me on a Saturday morning!! Woohooo! I was literally jumping up and down with much joy!

Tip Top Nails South Africa

So so happy! And I quickly head on to do swatches as soon as time permitted me to. I have a lot of good things to say about these polishes. Particularly how blessed I am by God and by Tip Top team! These colours were colours I've been searching for but fail to find them around in Malaysia. What joy it is to find them sent to me in a parcel! :D

Tip Top Nail Chic Red Rendezvous
Tip Top Nail Chic Red Rendenzvous
Red Rendezvous is a gorgeous deep red and the colour is just right for my skin tone. I was just thinking of buying a solid red but thought they won't match my skin and maybe I won't wear it. Totally changed my mind after seeing this colour! I'd totally wear this! Great application and opaque in two coats.

Tip Top Nail Chic In The Navy!
Tip Top Nail Chic In The Navy!
In The Navy! is a very rich navy blue colour, one of the colours missing in my blue collection so you can imagine the joy I got when I saw this in the package. I love it. This is my favourite blue colour of all times! Smooth application, also opaque in two coats.

Tip Top Nail Chic Super Trooper
Tip Top Nail Chic Super Trooper
Super Trooper is a warm grey, slightly greenish. Totally a grey I was looking for! You won't believe how high and low I've search for a grey in this shade! Many I came across with were cool tone. This is just perfect! Like most of the polishes, smooth application, no streaks and best in two coats.

Tip Top Nail Chic Gold Drop Glitter
Tip Top Nail Chic Gold Drop Glitter
Tip Top Nail Chic Gold Drop Glitter
Tip Top Nail Chic Gold Drop Glitter
Last but not least, the gold polish that I've won - Gold Drop Glitter. As you can see, I've swatch it over all three of the other colours so you may have a taste of the variations. Although I did use two coats of glitters, they are pretty much compact with just 1 good coat of glitters with the dabbing technique (I'd talk more about this technique in my next post). But this is certainly yet another gold glitter that's  missing in my stash. And boy am I ever so glad to have receive this! And I must say I really love Gold Drop Glitter over Super Trooper. Oh did I mentioned its so sparkly? ;)

To conclude my post, these are certainly one of the best nail polishes brand I've ever tried. I love that they are absolutely fuss-free and super smooth application. Oh and seems like I got too carried away with my excitement I almost forgot to mention, Tip Top Nails South Africa's nail polishes are Toxin free, Formaldehyde free, Toluene free, DBP (Dibuthyl Phthalate) free and Camphor free. So they are totally safe to use! And thank you Tip Top Nails South Africa once again for the opportunity to experience such wonderful products.

August Hauls

So, I went shopping yesterday. I must say, of all the shopping malls I've been to, Sunway Pyramid sure is my no.1 spot to go if I want to buy nail polishes (around Klang Valley). I've even spotted a couple of new nail polish brands available. Although, mostly are Korean brands; Holika Holika is one of the new beauty stores there - but no, I didn't grab any from there. I did try out their testers though, and find the application quite alright. I'm gonna apply the 3 days rule before I decide whether or not I'd buy one of the duochrome nail polishes there. Still its all good to see more choices available for nail polish consumers in Malaysia.

Okay, now to stay back in topic, I realised I've bought a lot of nail polishes for the past weeks of August! Which somewhat scares me, because I've never bought so many in a short time before! (haha!!) So looks like I'd be needing to control myself a little more from now on.

As you can see, some of them I've already used them in the previous nail challenges. But I've not swatch them. Only time will tell when I'd find the time to swatch all of these. Haha! Oh, I will be swatching a new polish from Etude House in my next post because I love it so much I just can't wait to share~!

Names and Signature or Just Signature?

As the title of this post states, I'm wondering if I should continue including Names of the nail art done and my signature, or I should/must forfeit art names and only include watermark/signature

If you have followed my blog, you'd noticed I do have a habit of placing names of the NOTD I did, as well as including my watermarks in the same frame of the photo. (but when I just started out, I didn't really do that, it is a recent development). Well, you could say I do like it that way; having the title and my watermark. It was why I've made my pictures 16:9 ratio. But, if it were to cause confusions like:  maybe I watermarked over another person's art work... I wouldn't want that.

So, I would love to hear your opinion regarding this matter; whether I do or do not need to change the way I do my pictures. Should there be a need to change, I'm willing to.

Thank You.
