Fiery Blue Heart

A very good morning to all of you! It is already Chinese New Year Eve!! I would like to take this chance to wish all my readers who are celebrating Chinese New Year this year a very Happy & Prosperous Chinese New Year!! And to those who are on your way home, drive safely! It's a pity I hadn't the time to execute CNY inspired manicures. Haha! I was too busy/distracted trying to create a manicure for a certain special day :)

I have a wonderful news. About Four days ago, I've received an indie polish prize from a giveaway hosted by Charlotte from WellNails in celebration of her 300 Followers mark! - yay!! My first polish from Denmark! Plus, it is a newly made Limited Edition Valentine Shade! I'm sooo excited to be able to share this lovely polish with you!

Charlotte is so sweet to have written me a personal note! I love it when I receive little notes like these! Makes me all mushy on the inside! Thank you, Charlotte! ;)

This polish is called The Robin. Which according to Charlotte's description is inspired by the scene where Barney proposed to Robin, who was wearing a gorgeous red dress on a rooftop filled with flickering candles and it starts to snow. So following the inspiration, this polish is made of clear base filled with small red and holo gold glitters, medium sized red and white glitters and of course, a good amount of red heart glitters to complete the whole look!

I did a quick test to see which combo I'd love best with The Robin. Lol, turns out I do love all these 5 combination. I'm guessing you could tell my top two favourites are the ones with the blue base and the thumb. Let me break down the colours for you:
  • Green base polish - Bandi Mineral Green
  • Blue polish - Combination of Peripera P019 and Max Factor Fantasy Fire
  • Creme off white polish - Colour Combos CBL 107
  • Dusty brown polish - Skin Food BR609
  • Grey polish - OPI My Private Jet
Since I was really in the mood for some blue manicure, I went with the second combination which was the combination that the longer I look, the more I love it! Now I'm going to walk you through briefly, the process of my Fiery Blue Heart nails!

Lacqueerisa: Fiery Blue Heart

I have started off by painting my fingers with these two contrasting colours. If you have followed me in Pinterest, you would know for the past few days I've been really inspired by tangerine orange colours paired with rich blue colours. In the picture above my index, ring and pinky finger have one coat of Peripera P019 and two coats of Revlon Amber Ablaze on my thumb and middle finger.

Here comes the 'secret sauce' - Max Factor Fantasy Fire! I've gotten this polish few days before Christmas last year, but I have been saving it for this special day! So yes! Excited that I finally get to use this polish! Special thanks to my bestie for helping me get this! (Mwah! Love you!)

You would notice here that the colour shifts aren't visible. I do suppose the blue and slight green shimmer from the base polish ate the colour shifts up. LOL. However, what I really love about this combination is those red micro glitter/shimmer glow that looks like tiny specks of fire! This effect has inspired the name for the whole look - fiery! Love the effect Max Factor Fantasy Fire gives when layered over Peripera P019!

Ahh, here comes the fun part. Layering The Robin over the blue combos! An easy one coater! The glitters were just the right amount! Though the hearts are a little hard to get out. No problem on the index, but poor ring and pinky didn't get the hearts. Haha! So I dug a little and manually placed 1 heart on each finger. They are rather top coat thirsty. Partially I suspect it is because my nails are curvier, which makes thicker glitters a little more "edgy". Haha! :P I was going to just leave my nails this way and call it a NOTD but dear Thumb and middle finger were screaming for some nail art!

And this is the final look, done with the aid of dotting tool and striping tape! Ahh, finally they look complete! Nothing like expressing the love for blue with a blue heart! ;)

Look at those sparkles! Aren't they just gorgeous? I can't stop staring at my nails! Really love the holo gold glitters in The Robin. It gives such a beautiful glow to the manicure!

Somehow, I'm a little chatty today. Hahaha! Such a long post. If you did not enjoy those texts, I hope you'd at least enjoyed the pictures! Hehe. Hmm, I guess I'd be sporting these nails through CNY. Since, they do match my outfit for tomorrow as well (haha, yeah I'm wearing blue!).
