Splattery Fun!

Hello everyone! I do apologise for things being so quiet around here for the past week. I have been slacking busy. Just few weeks back, I saw this beautiful polish on Kerruticles and I thought I would never find one here! Hahaha! Well, fortunately for me The Face Shop's Lovely Me:ex Yogurt nails along with few more polishes has arrived in local stores! I'm still hesitating to get the Lemon Candy Yogurt and Apple Mint Yogurt but I know it's only a matter of time before I cave in. Haha!! I did buy two on impulse. However, I'm only showing you one first, since I'm really excited about this one! ;)

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop - 02 Vanilla Sugar Yogurt

Introducing one of my best buys ever (yes, even on impulse buy this is a good buy! :D) *drumsroll* The Face Shop's Lovely Me:ex Yogurt Nails, 02 Vanilla Sugar Yogurt!!! Woohoo!! While I don't think it's a dupe, but I think it comes seriously close to KBShimmer Oh Splat! polish! Which is one of my many nail polish wishlist! :D

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop - 02 Vanilla Sugar Yogurt

A rather successful macro shot! Many of you may not know, but the camera I use is just a basic camera and I can't manually set a macro feature but have to rely on it's so called 'intelligent' setting for macros - which can be really frustrating. So I got myself a reading glass (magnifying glass) and placed it in front of my camera's lens and ta-dah! :D

*Ahem* Back to the polish, from the macro shot you can clearly see that this bottle is packed with rainbow colour glitters goodness. Comes in various hex sizes, put together with sheer white crelly base. I could be wrong, but I think the only difference between this polish KBShimmer Oh Splat! is that it lacks large purple hex glitters. Other than that, they are sooo soo similar! Yay!!

On my nails are three thin coats on it's own, with no top coat. I took the opportunity to try out this technique shown by Christy of KBShimmer. I'm happy to say they applied beautifully with no problems and crazy packed with glitters! There is no need at all for any fishing! Pricing at MYR 12.90 per bottle, this is a great buy!

And these are two coat over a white polish. Look at how the colour totally comes to life! I just can't get over how gorgeous this polish is! It's precisely how I envisioned it to be and it did not disappoint at all! I think this might just be one of the go-to polishes to brighten up any day!

Here's a quick comparison of both hands! So you can see the difference between wearing it on it's own and layered over white. Do pardon the rather unfocused picture. This is the first time I tried taking them together with timer settings and of course, a mini tripod to hold the camera. hehe! I am seriously craving for something sweet now having typing/reading the words "Vanilla Sugar Yogurt" repetively... >_<

I should have warned you. This is a long post. Hahaha! So what else do I have here?

Lacqueerisa: Splattery Fun!

Yes, a nail art! This nail art is inspired by Marta of ChitChat Nails. Believe it or not, it was her nail art and her wonderful swatches of KBShimmer Oh Splat! that made me want it so bad! I guess it's only expected that I'd try a similar nail art because it is so inspirational! :)

Lacqueerisa: Splattery Fun!

Techniques wise, they were a mix from two bloggers/nail artist, I've come across. Namely, Tamit24 from fall in ...naiLove! you can check out her tutorial here as well as Robin Moses in this video here. Both very talented and amazing bloggers! :)

Lacqueerisa: Splattery Fun!

Well, looking at theirs again and back at mine... it's no where as good as theirs. But that's okay, cause this is such a fun design and it's definitely one I'd be practicing to get better at! ;)

Lacqueerisa: Splattery Fun!

And yes, we've finally come to the end of today's post. I hope you have enjoyed this post though it's long. Hopefully I'd be able to squeeze in time for another post this week. Until then, have a great day!

  10. Thank you!! :) Ah, I wasn't much of a The Face Shop fan because they just dry too slow so I've been using them more for nail art and stuff, also their collection wasn't that fantastic either. BUT with these, I'm more than happy to purchase from there again! :) The price in general is much more cheaper than Etude's.

She is! Not just her nail arts are amazing, but also the tips she shares! It's always so on the spot and informative! Just from 1 Video, one can really learn a lot! :D
