A Growing Collection

Hello! I'm thinking soon I'd be running out of titles to call my ever growing China Glaze collection. Any suggestions? Hahaha!! Today, I have not just three but four China Glaze nail polishes added to my stash. Around two months ago, China Glaze Malaysia had a promotion themed  "Changing For The Better" where we can trade in old bottles (of any brand!) for a new China Glaze nail polish at MYR25 per bottle (normal price: MYR42 - MYR46 approximately) and it doesn't stop there, if you purchased 3 bottles, you are entitled for a free dip. Neat eh? This is why I love CG Malaysia. They have such interesting promos like these ones unlike others.. And to my Malaysian readers, I urge you to follow their facebook page to be in touch of future promos! :)

China Glaze Nail Polishes

China Glaze Evening Seduction

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Evening Seduction

I've obtained this polish through lucky dip. Evening Seduction is a little deceiving from the bottle, to me. Haha!! I expected it to be a little more blueish. But it turns out to be really similar with TFS PP405.

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Evening Seduction

As you can see from picture above, Evening Seduction is a deep blackened purple creme nail polish. Most likely a shade darker than TFS PP405. So dark that I may actually deem it as good as black. One thing for sure I'd comment about this polish, true to its name - very seductive. There's something about it that just seems to draw me towards it. o.O

Well, I don't have much to say about solid colours. They are as they are. Formula wise, love it! Applies like butter :) And super glossy! I didn't use any topcoats in these swatches. It looks deceivingly opaque with 1 coat. But really, it needs about 2-3 coats. :)

China Glaze Rare And Radiant

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Rare & Radiant

China Glaze Rare & Radiant, I'm sure, is a polish familiar to most of you. Despite being named 'rare' there are actually multiple dupes of this shade and its duochrome-ness. Haha, unless people behind CG was being sarcastic about it. Lols. Due to its commonness I regret just a tiny bit choosing this one over Unpredictable. I was comparing these two just before making purchases.

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Rare And Radiant

In the end, I went with Rare And Radiant. It is a unique shade to add in my stash and the colour shifts are obvious. Ahem, yet even as I typed these, I still feel a pang of regret not getting Unpredictable *sads*. Maybe next time.. lol!

Although I knew I'd love duo/multichromes, I hadn't expect myself to fall for it so hard! I sure hope to see more of these kind of mixes in the future! They are way too interesting! On my nails as you can see, the shifts are not as strong as seen in bottle. I sure wished it was though. Anyway, I don't fancy much how the antique gold looked against my skintone but I do love moving my fingers around while admiring the view of them in different angles. ;)

Hahaha!! After many trials and errors, I'm glad that I was able to capture the beautiful shifts to showcase here :) Really loving the sparkles this nail polish has. Have you tried multichromes and duochromes? Which brand and colours are your favourites?

China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets

Gossip Over Gimlets is from their Autumn Nights Collection 2013. Some of you may and may not know that over a couple of months ago I was in search for an ideal silver to add to my collection. And had my eyes set on OPI This Gown Needs A Crown. I was also hoping to find dupes and cheaper alternatives.

I wasn't about to settle for any silver, I was looking for a silver-silver. I disliked this polish when I read that it has flecks of gold in bloggers' reviews. Strangely though, everywhere around me from clothes to polish I kept bumping into silver-gold mixtures. Needless to say, that got me abit frustrated (well you know, its really vexing when you're looking for specific colour/something and it just won't show up.. hahahah!!). So, in my almost giving up state, I decided to just try on this colour.

Ahh, what I deemed as a downside of this polish was actually the plus side of it! Just so you know, I didn't buy this there and then. When hesitant, I like to try on the polish then walk around a little while more and if still undecided leave it on my nails for a few days more just to see if I will change my mind. But I have decided that I might settle for this during my walkabout moments. Surprisingly, I loved how the gold flecks looked with the silvers. I'm not too sure, but it seems to me that these gold flecks helped the silver to be a little more reflective at the same time, created a very interesting look on your nails. Makes me think of those stick on foil transfer on nails, with creases but neatly packed creases.

Yet, I was still hesitant. The possibility that I may prefer OPI This Gown Needs A Crown was still there. I didn't want to get two silvers, I hardly use them so its not wise to get two. On another trip to a different mall, I had the opportunity to not only see OPI TGNAC in person but even tested it! Super happy about that, cause being able to try them hands on answers so much more questions with certainties. Having comparing the two, I prefer Gossip Over Gimlets over OPI TGNAC. Why? Well, CG GOG is more opaque compared to OPI TGNAC. Also, CG GOG gives off heavier feeling to it, one that resembles white golds rather than OPI TGNAC. Nevertheless, OPI TGNAC do sparkles like a million diamonds on your nails when lights hit them. On my nails are two easy coats of China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets, no topcoat.

China Glaze Your Present Required

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Your Present Required

Here's a polish I'm quite excited about. I remember when I saw the promo pictures of it my reaction was "Ah, something worth getting". Coming from their recent Happy Holiglaze Collection, Your Present Required is a glitter topper that consists of magenta, blue, copper, gold and matte white pieces. There's also tiny green glitters in it. Glitter sizes varies from medium to small with addition of some large white matte hexes. Ahems, not to forget the name of this polish! Your Present Required - kinda sounds like its calling out to you, no? :P

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Your Present Required

All those glitters comes with a clear base making it versatile in my book. They are rather sparse. In the above picture is a coat using direct application. The larger pieces, like the white hex on my thumb do require fishing. Even so, its still hard to get the larger piece out. But with the large piece or not, I'm pretty fine with how it is already.

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Your Present Required

Although sparse, you can obtain opacity using the dabbing method. On my pinky and index I've worn Your Present Required solo with two coats of dabbing method. While I can't say its a 100% coverage, its good enough. Ring, middle and thumb are layered over Gossip Over Gimlets.

From the picture above, I would conclude that this is a glitter polish beautiful enough to wear on its own as well as with other colours! If you're a fan of glitters, definitely check this one out! :)

That concludes my post for today. I hope you have enjoyed reading and looking at the swatches. Haha! I might put a hold on nail arts for the time being. Trying to catch up with swatchings. Hehe. Maybe if time permits, I'd pop in a nail art or two. Till then! :)

Great swatches, your present required is something that really caught my eye in that collection, the mix is really interesting and it's those big white hexes haha :)

  3. Whoah Evening Seduction looks absolutely amazing on your nails! I love colors like that!

I have Rare and Radiant too, but I don't know if I like it on my nails... It's too... plain? I was just looking at it the other day and felt totally meh about it. I think I only got it because of the hype.

Also, you can't never go wrong with glitters ;)

  6. Oh wow!!! So cool that CGMalaysia offers such great deals! As far as I know we don't even really have a CG Germany -.-" I can only buy it online from others but not directly from CG, ugh. Anyways, your collection is really growing and I love that! China Glaze is one of my favorite brands out there, even though I don't own too many of their polishes. It's great to see all your swatches hihi
Evening Seduction - what a vamp! I totally love this shade. It's been a while since I wear dark polishes with a creme finish. Xmas season was full of gliter but my favorite finish is still creme so this one you show here definitely makes me wanna wear them again! Btw I think the color looks awsome with your skin color ^.^
Rare & Radiant..yeah, oh so rare xD But still gorgeous and in the end it doesn't matter that much from which brand you buy it, eh? You might remember my ANNY polish Hello Hollywood (the dragon skin one), I though it's sooo unique until I saw several other brands have that kind of duochrome shade too (and now talking about it...it's very similar to Rare&Radiant :O ) It's indeed hard to capture the true beauty of duochrome ones but I think you did a great job with the pics here!
Gossip over Gimlets: I like that you're really thoughtful with your hauls. It's true that with colors we barely use we don't really need 2 of them, especially when the differences aren't too much visible. I try to consider that more now as well (except for my pinks..somehow I love to hoard pink shades O_o) I like the little gold flakes in it but a silver-silver is definitely something else. But then again, you still can get a silver-silver from a different brand. I have one from essence, cheap and still quite good ^-^ I don't know why but somehow I think this won't be your last silver polish hihi
Your present required: I really really love the Holi-glaze collection! I think they did a great job with the different colors and textures, it's not boring yet still very festive! I own two polishes from that collection and want to get 2 more but let's see... Your present required is a party of glitters and sequins! SO. FREAKIN. GOREOUS! And it's great for the carneval season too ^-^

Oooh those are some great polishes! Your Present Required is so pretty, and I love how you paired it over a silver... it's a stunning combination! :D

  8. Thank you~! haha!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way ^^

  9. Hehe, thank you! I knew you'd love it too! It's really something different (for mainstream brands, hahaha) and yes, very interesting mix in there.

  10. Heyyy!! Thank you ^^ Yeah, I guess its really tricky with R&R, I like it a lot in the bottle, but on my skintone.. just 'hmm... ' but have you tried it with a holographic topper? Once I wore it with Fairy Dust, whoaaa love it!! Maybe you might change your mind with Fairy Dust over it too :D Haha!! Couldn't agree more with you, that one can never go wrong with glitters! ;)

  11. Hehe, yeah it was! One of the best they've ever offered so far. Glad I saw it in time XD And thank you! ^^

  12. Yeah, it sure is! Those gold flecks in there is really something ^^

  13. Haha!! CG is definitely becoming one of my favourite brands! I really like how their formula kind of 'self level'. I still wish they'd have wide-roundish brush though. Aww, thank you! I've many more swatches to come (of different brands of course! hehe)
Evening Seduction sure is a deep dark vampy shade! Hahaha!! I love cremes too, so much easier to work nail art with them ^^ And thank you! Darker shades do tend to show up nicer with my skintone - I'm grateful for that though. Since I do have a tendency to prefer richer and vivid colours. Lols!
Rare&Radiant and Anny Hello Hollywood, I think they look similar but probably not the same. I think, Anny Hello Hollywood would look more alike with Unpredictable XD I remember Peripera had one that look like a dupe of Unpredictable - I might just get that one (whichever cheaper XD lols!)
Well, it was a lesson learnt after hoarding a lot of lime and nude-like colours =/ And blues too. Hahaha! Oh, you're so right! Last year I won a giveaway, and in the prize there's a silver polish! Hahahaha!! So you can definitely expect to see it here soon! X3
Couldn't agree more with you. I think they did quite a splendid job on the Christmas collection last year. But I hope to see something like Christmas in a bottle kind of mix this year, or if they would, bring back Party Hearty :P Ah, yes back on topic... the mix is not too 'one-sided' making it, as you have said, worthy for other seasons as well ^^ Love this one! ♥

  14. Thanks Yun ^^ Couldn't agree more with you! It's my favourite-st of their Holi-Glaze collection. Thank you! I'm glad you loved it, and I loved your combination as well :D
