Hauls from Australia Part 2

Hey ya! Today I'd be bombarding you with lots of pictures once again. How have your week been so far? I do apologise for the lack of posts. I'd try to post as frequent as possible. ;P

Chi Chi He So Fly, is a really bright blue that leans towards purple tone. These are two well spread coats of colours on my nails. It dries somewhat matte, still a little glossy. Just a little. I think its really great colour to add that extra pop of colour on any days when needed. With the beautiful brightness that it has, I thought it was only appropriate that I do a nail art with it.

yeap, see how different colours on the nails affected the whole picture lighting. lols!

I did find this colour rather hard to match. I was cracking my brain what colours to pair it with other than black and white or family colour. I needed something different that will make me love more. Then I recalled, the shirt I was wearing then, was a similar colour (except super faded) it had a lovely picture of a orange yellow butterfly on a flower with leaves surrounding it. I thought, why not? And bam! Instant love. I felt like a genius for a moment before remembering the colour combo wasn't figured out by me, but the one who designed the shirt. Haha! How super. Two very bright colours matched together! I've also topped the butterfly with a coat of seche vite to smooth it out before topping over my matte topcoat. As you can see, the matte topcoat that I have gives a whole different matte finish compared to matteness of the He So Fly.

This is a neon red. So bright, so chili (hot)! And what's better? It was a shade I wanted to buy, but have yet to purchase. Talk about telepathy! Although it appears really red-red here, it's actually slightly pinkish. Very slightly. But the definitely the right shade I was looking for! Love this colour! Two coats on my nails. And yes, finishes glossy.

And a quick layering to for the red! I was thinking of attempting a proper nail art (wait, is there such thing?), but decided to layer on F4 Peppermint Stix. Aw, it tickles me that previously I swatched it over a white, and now a red - which are the two colours in that big bottle of glitters! Haha!! Maybe I should update that post one day with a swatch on its own? Or with another colour or with a collage of colours.

Yeap, my mom just have to pick up gold. Hahaha! It's like me always picking up teals (I have since repented and seriously think through thoroughly before getting another teal). Anyway, Glamourama is a shimmery gold with a slight orange tint. Kinda safe to say orangy gold? I would imagine this is a wonderful gold base to work with. I have two coats on my nails. Probably need three to cover up the nail line.

Well, after having golds like It's Skin Nail Stylure GD101 I have decided this isn't quite glamour as the name made it sounds like. So I layered over Skin Food Pearl Party (swatch coming soon) and using Holika Holika Black polish with a brush and drew borders/frames on each nails. Tracing over the black with OPI Warm & Fozzie for that shimmery brown effect. I thought this might make it a little more glamourous. Ahh, yes, I added as well tiny dots with toothpicks. Oh, and the stars (also for that added glam*star!) Hahaha! I think it pretty much became a disaster. I thought it was funny how ideas seems great in the head and turned out to be a complete disaster on 'canvas'. Hahaha!! I should have just stopped after layering Skin Food Pearl Party. It looked real glam just with it. This proves a lot how less is more sometimes :P

*Ahem* back on topic. I think my Mom who knows nothing about nail polish (except judging colours), really hit a jackpot here. I really love Chi Chi's formulas. I did a quick check, turns out they are pretty pricey. But hey, at least you are paying for something good. The applications were smooth and so easy to control, dries slightly quicker than average too. I like it when polishes are good to go at two coats. I think it saves tons of time. Haha!! A little time can go a long way :)

That is all for now. Stay tune for Part 3 ;)

  1. Your mom did a great job picking the colors and I'm glad to hear that the formula is good as well. I've never heard of ChiChi before to be honest but the colors look beautiful, so vibrant, I love that! And it's really nice that you showed us how to rock them with glitter/designs/color combination!

  4. I love ChiChi. The formula is always spot on. I tend to see that range for $5 each. By Australian standards, it's nothing. Haha. They have bigger ones, but they don't seem that mini to me. Bounce Him is a great colour. Will have to get it. The blue is great, but I have so many blues.

...How are you holding the polish in the second picture? o.o Looks like magic. xD Or are you gripping with just your thumb? I pay close attention to shots like these, since I still can't hold my hand properly for swatch shots.

    1. I have to agree with the formula. I love it! Yeap, they aren't that mini, like most mini sized polishes. Hahaha!!

Oh I didn't hold them. I just lay them on my palm and pose the fingers over it (if it made sense?). There are gaps between the polish and the fingers, hence shadows on the polish bottle. Hahaha!! That's cause I wanted something different and my right hand's pinky faces weird direction. ;)
