Good Saturday Morning y'all!! Its a really lovely morning over here. Hope yours is just as lovely, or better! Today's notd is inspired by Cupcakes - somewhat. Well, this NOTD wasn't originally made for cupcakes. It was actually inspired by digital black and white noises. Carrying the noises inspiration with me, I went ahead stippling on my holographic black polish and they ended up looking like McFlurry Oreo. I paused and stared at it for quite awhile. No matter how I look at it, they don't look anything like digital black and white noises. The longer I stared, the more it look like Oreo. So, I go "what the heck, I'd just make this Oreo inspired!". Then, I recalled I wanted to do a cupcake inspired manicure in conjunction of "Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer" event. Well, don't you think Oreo Cupcakes sounds absolutely mouth watering? ;)
Oh yeah, I stippled every single one of them and added a Velvet Red Cupcake there. I just thought that having all oreo cupcakes will look too monochrome-ish and uninteresting. After all, these are for an event that;s for kids. There should be some colours. Perhaps, I should have done all five nails cupcakes-I'd leave that for some other time. If you've noticed, I didn't use a top coat over them at all. Kinda afraid of messing up after all the hard work. Plus, I really liked the stipple texture for the cupcake icings. These were really fun to do and they actually turned out better than what I had in my mind. So yeah, I'm super happy! :D
Tools and nail polishes : Toothpick, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, L'elan Vital Black Holographic Nail Lacquer, Elianto Sparkling Diva Glittery Nickel, Revlon Chocolate Truffle, The Face Shop WH002, Revlon Pretty In Papaya and Tip Top Nail Chic Red Rendezvous.
And just in case some of you are wondering, nah, it didn't take me that long to complete this manicure. Approximately, 8-10 minutes each nail. Hope you enjoy these nails because that is all for today! Have a great weekend and maybe treat yourself to some deliciously mouth watering cupcakes ;)
This is so cute! I especially like the red velvet cupcake, but I'm partial to red velvet all around :P
ReplyDeleteThanks! I find red velvets very pretty! Always tempted to buy one to eat but have yet to taste any mind blowing ones ;)
Deletewhat an interesting technique to draw cupcakes on the nails! <3 I haven't seen something like this before. :D
ReplyDeleteI did a tutorial once as well, some months ago: http://lackaffen.blogspot.de/2012/06/cupcake-nail-art-tutorial.html
Thank you! I wanted something a little different that prompted me to stipple them (its something like pointillism) Because I couldn't seem to get a good smooth covering like yours. That's an awesome tutorial you did! Thanks for sharing! ;)
