Good Morning! We are just a few days before Valentine's Day. I believe there is a possibility of love literally filling the air around us by now. Valentine's Day as how I know it, is a day many couples dedicate to celebrate their love for each other. Now, I've heard a few who do not agree on this V-day idea. One of the common reasoning they give is "I don't think love should only be celebrated for a day. It should be everyday, all year!". Well, I think they are missing the point. It's not that couples (or anyone else) only celebrate 'Love' on Valentine's Day only. Rather than that, I think it's a day that gives the perfect excuse for both parties to just be excused of other activities and spend time with each other. Haha! Anyway, these days, Valentine's Day has become a day to celebrate 'Love' in general. So this year, I've been thinking of attempting at least one Valentine's Day nail art. Just as that thought crossed my mind, I received an invitation email from Jaimie Herrmann, Community Outreach Coordinator of Brilliant Earth to participate in a 'Create A Little Love Campaign', end of last month. Brilliant Earth is a company based in US that specializes in ethically sourced diamonds and engagement rings. If you plan on getting engage this year, you might want to take a look at this company :) Disclaimer: This is not a paid post nor sponsored or compensated in any way. But a post done out of love for nail art in contribution to 'Create A Little Love Campaign'.
So, 'Create A Little Love Campaign', is a movement hosted by Brilliant Earth to spread a little more love around the globe. What makes it interesting is that every participant gets to fully and freely express what love means to them in their own unique ways!
This is the Valentine's Day nail art I've come up with for this campaign. Probably not the usual pink and red representations. I chose aqua base colour as a token to celebrate my unfading love for blue hues. Today's post is a little different. But, please bear with me as I walk you through this cluttered brain of mine :)
I remembered a couple of times, seeing a pair of elderly couple, holding hands while taking the morning stroll together. What a beautiful scene that was. Both of them, holding hands, chatting away and giggling like they were the only ones in the world. *Sigh* And I thought to myself, "Wow, such a sweet and cute couple. If I ever get in a relationship, I'd want one just like theirs!". Well, who wouldn't? Falling and being in love for such a long time is like living on cloud 9! :)
But with a closer look, falling and being in love is not as easy as it sounds. Love, is like a plant. We ought to take the time to continuously cherish one another, be thoughtful for each other and communicate between each other. Constantly nourishing the love both of you have in order for it to grow and blossom. It may not always be a smooth sailing experience but it will be worth it.
With sufficient care and love, Love's roots will grow deep within the ground. And your love will transform from a budding romance to a solid, beautiful, and ever blossoming tree. So beautiful that it spreads and inspires others as well.
And when you look back, or when you look at the bigger picture. You'll realised how far both of you have come. Sure, not every love have a sweet and happy ending. But in my case, it certainly is one happy ending! Every effort of love poured out in the making of this nail art was worth it. From the planning process to the final outcome! :)
Well, that's all I have to say. Haha! Anyway, I hope this post has been somewhat enjoyable to read. Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to Jaimie Herrmann and Brilliant Earth, for reaching out to me to join in this wonderful campaign. It's been a wonderful experience! :)
♥ Happy Valentine's Day ♥
