Happy New Year, 2013!!!

Hellllllloooooooooo!!!! And as the title mentioned, Happy New Year everyone! Hope you're all having a blessed start!

As promised, I'm here (and on time!) to show you all the New Year's Nails I've been pretty excited about. Actually, its New Year's Eves nails. Hahaha! So, usually on every New Year's Eve, I'd be attending  the Church's Watch Night Service and have my countdowns there. It's not really a party-party event. But rather a time to reflect back on God's blessings and how He has guide us throughout bitter moments and sweetest moments of the year. There is no doubt that last year was quite a roller-coaster ride and time literally flew by for most of us, if not all. And since things were really picking up towards the end of the year (and the influence of glittery madness around blogger world!) I can't help but feel all glittery for New Year's Eve!

Yeap, for special occasions, you'd see me do both side of the same theme. This look was inspired by a ring I bought just few days before New Year Eve, and it inspired me so much I just knew it is the look I want to achieve for New Year!

Alright, so for this look.. I know I didn't want plain same pattern nails so I really wanted to do a skittle sort of look but ended up with just an accent nail. Haha, I couldn't think of better combination. But I do love how it turn out! :)

To achieve this, I've started with a coat of Clio Nail Styler S312 on all of my fingers except the middle one. Then I layered partially, Essence Space Queen because I wanted a more glittery backdrop for the stars. Now, to draw the stars. I modified one of my old nylon brushes so I could get a really thin small stripper to have better control drawing the stars. I've referred to Robin Moses's vid on how to cut brushes.I started off by drawing the big star with silver polish and layered over Clio Nail Styler S314 for a brighter blue finish. Followed by the smaller stars using Bloop Silver and Bloop Shimmery Brown polishes. After that, I pulled out my bottle of Pretty2U #68 dab the glitters on a paper and used a toothpick to pick out the bigger ones to place on my nails. As for the acccent, I was very inspired by mah-bell p in her wonderful layering of gradient glitters for the New Year so I've done a similar take (but not as gorgeous as hers) for my accent. Oh, the base for the middle finger is Clio Nail Styler S314 two coats and on top of it are Essence Space Queen and Etude House PWH904.
