Hello!! I have for you today, yet another entry for a contest. This contest is currently on going over at Tip Top Nails South Africa Facebook Page. The theme is to create a french manicure using only 3 colours; Black, White and Silver. The contest is divided into 4 sections, and this is just the first section and the due date submission for this week's theme is February 1st 12noon GMT.
Here is the look I've submitted:
I actually had no idea what to call these. All the names I came up with were too long. I wanted something shorter. Although not very satisfied, but I've settled for Monochrome French Manicure. Sounds a bit boring huh? =/ Moving on...
I have quite a huge crush for triangles and geometries lately, I just couldn't resist the thought of incorporating some there. And decided to do black buntings inspired french tip pairing with stripes that were layered over silver glitters. Initially, I had all of them looking the same, stripes and buntings but I couldn't help feeling it was a little boring and went with chevron accents.
Haha! I do like how they turn out, though it was very tempting to add red or gold colours into the mixture. Aww, I love how the glitters sparkles beneath the lines!
So yeah, these didn't take me long. Started off with 3 thin coats of Tip Top French Manicure White as base. Tape off the tip of the nails and polish over the silver glitters. Remove the tapes and using my DIY striper brush, drew black and silver lines as well as the triangles. Top coat the whole design. About two coats of Seche Vite to smooth them out.
All in all, hope you find this look somewhat interesting. Lol. It does look a little queer to me. But I still like it. And I love the accents on my ring and thumb! ;)
Polishes L to R :
Inglot Matte Black, Tip Top French Manicure White, Etude House PWH904, Bloop Silver Polish
