Hello fellow readers! I shall warn you ahead this is going to be a long post! ;) There's quite a lot I want to say, and there is no obligation in reading though. Hehe!
Somewhere in March, I've actually made my first ever purchase of China Glaze polishes. It's quite crazy, as it didn't hit me they were my firsts until I was on my way home and feeling all excited about my very worthwhile buy. Then I got extra hyped! Lol!!
I am uncertain how many of you would do this, but I've been loitering around China Glaze counters looking for possible colours that would interest me and checking out which collection they carry or don't. More often than not, I'd end up leaving that place empty handed, but still loiter about there again the next time I happened to pass by. And then, during my random yet frequent loitering in the month of March, I noticed a polish I've never noticed before (busy looking for blues all those times), Fairy Dust. Omgosh! So pretty!!! And it has scatter holo properties! What the heck, why I've never set eyes on this before! The salesgirl there was kind enough to assist and let me know it was priced about MYR 30.00. Apparently it was under best buys. I looked around a little more and decided to only get Fairy Dust, then she notified me that buying two, they give Pom Pom as a free gift. OH! Sounds good! I wasn't too sure what else to get, but I finally settled for Optical Illusion (also under best buys) which I do know it's from the Prismatic Collection last year. And to my lovely surprise, I was also given a free pouch! Neat!
China Glaze Fairy Dust
This is gems in bottle. Serious. No joke. Not just that, it's magic in a bottle, it contains real Fairy Dusts!
What? You don't believe me? See the above picture? On my index, thumb and pinky are two coats of OPI My Private Jet, whose holos are old and dusty and about to fade out. On the middle and ring finger are two coats of Max Factor Glossfinity Opal, a neutral grey shade that has shimmer properties and leans slightly purple. With just a little sprinkling (1 easy smooth coat) of China Glaze Fairy Dust.....

Voilà! A whole new fun and youthful makeover! Just like magic, no? ;)
Watch them sparkle!
One of the best polishes I've ever bought. Imagine all the possibilities and varieties I could achieve with this bottle of Fairy Dust! :D
China Glaze Optical Illusion
This is China Glaze Optical Illusion from the Prismatic Collection. It was not a polish I fancy too much from seeing the swatch on nail wheel there and the bottle. I did not try though. I really wonder why I'm reluctant to, especially when they have testers there. Since I was told to choose another polish to qualify myself for the promotion, I settled for this shade, as it looks really aquatic and very mermaid-ish (also it's name influenced my decision too).
My oh my. I never thought I'd love it as much as I do now. Finally I understood what others meant and felt when they talked about picking up a shade that they clearly had not expect to love. I'm sooo grateful and happy that I've pick this one up! I love the tealness in the polish.
On my thumb, index and pinky finger are two coats of China Glaze Optical Illusion over one coat of Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle #08 (a foilish teal). And on my middle and ring finger are three coats of China Glaze Optical Illusion on it's own. Applies flawlessly and so packed with glitters! Besides, I think I know why it is called 'Optical Illusion' from certain angles you are able to see that slight purple shift. It doesn't show up in my pictures but in real life, it's there. :)
China Glaze Pom Pom
China Glaze Pom Pom is a sheer dark pink base with pink and silver glitters. Usually, this wouldn't be a shade I'd pick up as I hardly wear pink on my nails. But it so pretty! What a bonus to have gotten this as a free gift :)
On the middle and ring finger are three coats on it's own. Thumb, index and pinky are two coats over Maybelline Unforgetable Red. What a stunner! Application was flawless and the glitters dries pretty smooth even at third coat.
There's something about this shade and glitter mix that somehow reminds me of Christmas. I wonder what nail art I could come up with, with this shade. For the time being, I am thinking of doing one inspired by Cheerleader outfit or something. (Can't help thinking about Cheerleading with Pom Pom as this polish name).
And recently, just the weekends of Mother's day, I've purchased two more bottles of China Glaze polishes taking advantage of their anniversary sale in Isetan, 1Utama. 15% off normal priced items with an additional 10% off for Isetan Card Members + free express manicure with any purchase! I took this chance to give my Mom a quick pampering. I'd say, super thumbs up for their wonderful customer services. Although I wish they have been a little more generous with Seche Vite top coat, just to smooth out the glitter and seal the tips, the manicure was already chipping the next day.
China Glaze Sea Spray
I love this shade! It's vintage pale blue with hardly noticeable shimmers that gives it a beautiful soft finish! Having them on my nails, I was sure. This shade is definitely going in my all time favourite shades!
In the picture, are two thin coats of China Glaze Sea Spray with no top coat. I love the formula! So easy to work with and dries rather fast. If the weather is hot, it has the tendency to bubbled up. It's much ideal to polish under cool conditions. :)
China Glaze Champagne Kisses
Ahh, during that trip in March, I had meant to get this bottle. But it wasn't on offer. I just wasn't willing to pay the expensive price and I did mentioned, I will wait for it to be on discount/sales. Hahaha! The salesgirl did say 'It might be a long wait'. Haha I remember thinking to myself 'It's okay, I can wait. The polish ain't running anywhere.' But I guess two months time is not long. Score~!
Pardon the teal heart, I forgot to take it on it's own. China Glaze Champagne Kisses is a very blingy and glittery mix of coppers and gold tiny glitters. Which makes gave it a rose gold hue. Absolutely love this! It finishes rather gritty, but I don't mind. I think it enhances the sparkles of the glitters.
These are with top coat, Sasatinnie Gel Topcoat. However, it doesn't smooth out glitters, which is actually perfect for this, as I didn't want it to be smooth but still remain that glitter texture.
My Mom wore this shade for Mother's Day, so I wanted something on my nails to match hers. Haha! This was the first version, before I decide to do away with the blue heart as I'm not satisfied how it looked.
And here is the finalized design on my nails. It is very simple three hearts for her three babies! ;) And more colours for much vibrant finish. The teal heart was done using Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle #08, the red BK #20 and periwinkle blue is It's Skin Shimmer Collection BL201.
Ah now to conclude the post, overall I love China Glaze's formulas but not so much with the brush. Some of the brushes are uneven at the tip, and that could cause wonky/uneven application. My bottle of China Glaze Sea Spray had 1 longer brush strand, which I've resolve to trim it off otherwise face the consequences of uneven strokes. Hahaha! But really, for the price paid and the reputation they have, I expected details to be taken care of. Brushes are quite essential to provide smooth and flawless application.
Oh before I forgot, the pouch ideally fits three bottles, but it could fit five. haha!
