Hello Everyone! I almost missed my first year bloggiversary (actually I did. The blog went live on 21st June 2012..I kept thinking it was 29th...) Fortunately, today coincides with the date of my first post of NOTD. Anyway, as the month of June approached, I have been wondering what I should write or what I should post. It's rather unfortunate that until now, I still do not know for sure what I'd be talking about. I thought of maybe a 'then and now thingy' or could I talk about how 'far' I've come?
Strangely, I still feel as though it's only been a few months since I started blogging. Haha! I'm finding it rather hard to believe that a year has gone by. There are several reasons why I started this blog.
- I enjoy talking about colours and nail polishes, but I hardly have proper outlets.
- I want to share my experiences in hopes it'd be beneficial to others.
- I had (what I deem as) too many polishes that were sitting in my little box that I felt were used too little times. (I used to only polish during special occasions).
- ....Maybe I didn't have that many reasons as I thought - I just needed a proper place where I can talk about my passion freely while not being buggy to the anyone who are reading/listening =P
Well, all I can say is that instead of making full use of what I already have, I started hunting for colours that were not in my stash and any that made me feel like I need it! - hahahaha!! Talk about plans being backfired.. XD
There are tons of things I've learned along the way. To me, one of the most important thing I learn is not to flood your cuticles if avoidable. My nails are curvy, and when the polishes flood to the sides, they are just almost impossible to be rid off. Learning to paint my nails and leaving a decent gap between the colour and the cuticle, allows me fully clean my nails off the old colour and enables me to wear a new colour without having any 'evidence' of the previous colour. What comes next was the knowledge to use a brush to clean the cuticles. I have to say, in terms of cleaning the cuticles it's not just the brush that plays a role, but the nail polish remover as well. Base on my experience, the stronger the better - faster and cleaner clean ups. My current favourite nail polish remover is by Corine de Farme (MYR 16.90 for 200ml).
Just get the brush. I was once a stubborn fool who wanted to just use dotting tool or toothpick to freehand nail arts. Fed up and frustrated at the limitations at hand, I finally purchased a cheap brush and suddenly I was introduced to a whole new world of nail arts and the endless possibilities!
Hahahaha omgosh I'm so wordy! Okay, I shall include some before and after looks. Below are my first three post of NOTD/Nail Arts since I started the blog:
Hahahah!! Look at that. Funny and uneven nail shapes XD Omgosh! I can't believe myself! What was I thinking then? Hahahahahah!!! XD And next would be my last recent three post of NOTD/Nail Arts on the blog:
I guess it's been quite a journey. And tons of happy improvements. Looking at these, I can't help but to wonder what it'd be like next year.. Well, if you're still sticking around and if I am still blogging we shall find out then ;)
Last but most definitely not least, I want to express my utmost gratitude to all of you who are reading this post, this blog and especially you who follows me. The best part about blogging, as many bloggers can testify is communicating with readers, which means YOU. So a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have constantly taken your time to read my blog, to comment and supported me this year long. It's been such a pleasant journey! I have met so many bloggers, learned so much from them and have been friends with so many of you too! Starting a blog, is one of my best decision ever made! I am so blessed to be able to reach out and make friends with people from around and across the globe just from this one small space :) Needless to say, I look forward to having more memories with you :D
