Lovely day to you! :) *Ahem* I guess I would keep the unpleasant post out of this week. Since it's been a rather good week. Don't want to "spoil combo" by having a sudden not-so-nice post. LOLs! So, last Tuesday, I was on my way out when found this little fellow stranded in front of my gate. :O
She moves a lot, so it's rather hard to photograph her. Hahahaha! Aww, ain't she the cutest?! I'm not too sure if she's an escapee or one on the road for sometime. But when I found her, she was really dry. And and... I'm claiming her :3
Here you can see she's not exactly in the best condition, I'm not sure what's up with her shell (anyone know?) I hope there's nothing bad. This is my first time rearing a slider. Fortunately for me, my cousins rears one, and gave me great tips on how to care for her. Thank you! ♥ She's probably my second pet. My first pets should be the gold fishes I scooped up with the paper-nets during a Japanese festival few years back. I was having fun playing the 'game' when it hit me that I don't exactly have a place to keep them. Plus it was almost midnight! There wouldn't be any shops open. It's a good thing I have relatives who had spare aquariums for me to use. Hahahahaha!!
Hehe, isn't it natural when you're in love with a certain creature, everything about it is inspiring? In this case, I love how beautiful her stripes are and how unique it is (okay, looks kinda watermelon-y) nevertheless, a beauty of its own. ^.^
When I attempted this, I didn't know if I'd like it on my nails as much as I love on the Red-Eared Slider. I had initially thought I would go ahead and have similar patterns on all nails. Then I saw her eyes. WOW! It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! Such a beauty would be a waste if it isn't incorporated into this nail art! ;)
Hahaha!! I strongly believe, it is the eye that completed this nail art! :) Well, I didn't quite capture it's total beauty - hopefully it's still enough. I only wish I had dared to add the white dot for the eye reflection.
Much to my surprise though, these greens really made my skin look fairer under the lighting. Weird, I thought it would have made me look more yellow than I am or more olive-ish. Hehe, that's all for today! I wish you all a beautiful weekend!
Nail polishes used:
L to R: Bandi Mineral Green, Lioele 24, Baviphat 13, Splassh 78, Etude House Ice Cream Banana
L to R: The Face Shop OR207, Sally Hansen Black Out
Great inspirational nails, funny today is animal print of the 31 days nail art challenge I'm in, and this made me think of that. xD greatjob!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah it is. I'm glad it 'stopped by' my house, XD At the moment, it's in a large basin. Thinking of getting an aquarium for her. But we'll see how. :) Hahah Yes, I thought of tree barks too! Pretty similar as well, eh? Hehe! Thank you very much! I'm so glad you like them :D
ReplyDeleteHehe, nature is always inspiring! :) Thank you! And I'm happy you love both the outcome and the inspiration :D
ReplyDeleteHeheheh! Exactly! I even saw it yawning while basking.. twice! Awww~~ X3 Also!! I am trying to feed it lettuce, since I read it's good for her (for the time being she only prefers the anchovies and small dried prawns). So I'd be stopping those for awhile, while trying to train her to eat her veggies! Lols! Since she wasn't used to eating from 'plates', I kinda shred the lettuce and it's floating all over the little 'pond'.. Some got onto her head, lols. And it's sooo adorable seeing her brushing them off. XD Didn't know turtles could do that!
ReplyDeleteHehe, thank you very much! I'm glad you're liking the nail art too :D
Haha!! Actually, thoughts of 'Animal Print' nail art theme/challenge did ran through my head when I was doing this nail art! I'm glad I coincide with the same day as your challenge! XD That way, my mani wouldn't look too random! Hehe! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteOh, hehe she just got one today! We're calling her Sparky! I wanted a name that aims towards better shell conditions (shinier and sparkly) and also reflects her tough side (she's quite a toughie). So Sparky sounds just right! ^.^
ReplyDeleteAww... :( but you were too young, it's not your fault :). Erm, hahaha my gold fishes only lasted 6 months, I think... I think they died of 'small space' >.< I hope this turtle will bear with it's limited space for the time being. While I try figuring out exactly where I should put her future home and how to go about with the basking area for it. I saw some cool DIY Basking areas. Pretty impressive! Hhahaha! And I just might go 'bare bottom' for the tank.. I've seen this turtle gobbling down small stones and pooping them and probably recycled them all over if I didn't take it out .____.
Hehe, thank you very much! I'm glad you love it! :D Haha I snapped a few in a row, looks like I manage to capture one where she was looking into the camera's lens (that or, she's actually photogenic XD) hahahaha! Oh, I read in wiki she's a south american native. Hahaha, I guess that justifies the 'south american patterns' ? :P But yeah, I guess it's forest-like colours enables them to camouflage into their surrounding ^.^
oh, your first pet is so so cute) Have you really found this turtle outside?! how interesting! As for the nail designe I must say it's wonderful))) good job, dear! Thank You for sharing such a nice post!
ReplyDeleteWish you a blessed day ahead!

ReplyDeleteHi Ithfifi! Welcome! :D I'm totally on same boat with you there! It was sooo random, but I'm super glad it happened! :D Oh, we've named her Sparky - in hopes her shell will sparkle someday :) Kinda a unisex name since she's quite a toughie! ;D Aw, thank you very much! I'm also glad to hear you like the nails and Sparky! XD
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Absolutely! Such a darling ♥ Not so sure if she's thrilled since I'm suspecting she's a wild one. Though its impressive how she appeared in front of my house. Haha, glad you love the name too! ^.^ And thank you very much, Yun! So happy to hear you love the nails as well!
ReplyDeleteVery cute turtle :) And beautiful nail art, it's so detailed!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are soo talented! Your nails look exactly like a Red Eared Slider!
ReplyDeleteHow is the turtle doing? Do you still have it? From the pictures you posted, it looks like the turtle may be shedding. I would have to see other pics to tell for sure. Shedding is completely normal - its means theres a nice healthy shell underneath :)
Hi Katharine!! :D Thank you so much that's just delightful to hear ^.^
ReplyDeleteAh, she's doing well. As active as ever! I think I might email you pictures just to be sure. Thank you so much for being able to offer more insights! Be in touch :)
