China Glaze Swatches & Review

Hey everyone ♥ So I've recently (not really, few months ago) added 3 more China Glaze into my collection. They are not new nor latest, hahahaha! They are pricey here, so I will always take a long time to consider /decide before buying any colours. Oh be warned! This is an unexpected lengthy post ;)

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Nail Polishes
Ahem, presenting the latest trio!

China Glaze Toe-tally Textured

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Toe-Tally Textured

China Glaze Toe-tally Textured is from their Summer Texture Collection 2013, which I'm sure you would have known about them earlier this year. When I first saw the swatches around the blogging communities, my reaction was 'mehh'. Then, Marta of Chit Chat Nails swatched them and all of a sudden, I am in love with this shade.

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Toe-Tally Textured

Toe-tally Textured is a bright sunny orange which I think is absolutely ideal for summer (or all year round! ;)) I love how saturated the orange is when on nails, I'm not sure if it shows in the photos.. On nails, this shade appears more vivid and saturated compared to its milky creme bright orange appearance in bottle.

Application wise is tricky. Putting on too much might sabotage the texture effect, so I advise you to spread thinly and evenly for a much desirable outcome. Also, in my opinion, I do find them rather rough.. so.. wear at own risk ;) In above pictures, are two thin coats of China Glaze Toe-tally Textured.

China Glaze Winter Holly

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Winter Holly

Ahh, China Glaze Winter Holly - you're finally mine! *hugs bottle* This is polish is from their Holiday Joy Collection 2012. This green gem right here, is the perfect shade and glitter that defines Christmas Tree to me. Hahaha! So, you can totally expect me to be using this for Christmas themed nail art this year ;) Provided that I didn't get idea blocks all of a sudden... hahahaha!

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Winter Holly

China Glaze Winter Holly is a clear base micro fine glitter polish. Consists mostly of green and deep green glitters together with very tiny holographic glitters.

In my pictures shows China Glaze Winter Holly three thin coats on its own. First coat is 'sheer' but glitters in Winter Holly are dense and builds up very nicely reaching opacity on third coat. In the directly above picture, shows China Glaze Winter Holly three thin coats on its own without topcoat. You can see it has a very nice matte finish, kinda resembles sandy glitters. Plus it feels smoother than Toe-Tally Textured.

As much as I appreciate the texture feeling this polish has, I really loved the darker shade gloss topcoat brings to Winter Holly. So I chose I topcoat that doesn't smooth glitters, and top over it. Right there, the perfect Christmas tree colour I've envisioned and love! Hahaha, besides I'm really starting to love how green looks on me. Oh! I almost forgot, application wise this performed really well. Easy and fuss free. And despite being three coats + top coat, they appeared almost flat on my nails. That's a huge plus to me. I don't like when my nails are bulky with layers of nail polish on. So if you don't already have China Glaze Winter Holly in your collection and you are a fan of green, this is totally a unique one to have! ;)

China Glaze Water You Waiting For

Hahaha! I found this colour while snooping around the polish counter for colours to add into my collection. When I saw the bottle and the glitters in it, I knew I found another spectacular blue to have in my stash! Curious of its name, I looked down and saw 'Water You Waiting For' - that was enough. This came home with me. XD

I vividly recalled a friend swatched this colour, Vicky from The Nail Artiste. I also remembered looking at the colour and didn't think much of it though, its weird that I remembered the name so well (fate? lol). Anyway, shame on me! I must have been blind for not noticing just how gorgeous this polish is! Stumbling upon this polish is like finding a hidden gem.

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Water You Waiting For

From the Cirque du Soleil, Worlds Away Collection; China Glaze Water You Waiting For is a stunning glitter packed polish. Consisting of dark periwinkle blue glitters and sea green glitters with a slightly tinted blue base. Sadly, as much as I love the mixes and depth this polish offers, I do not fancy the application process. Before I proceed further, please note that these views are based on the bottle I bought so it is possible that I got a bad bottle as I did notice the brush felt really awkward and funky. If only I swatched this earlier..maybe I could consider requesting for an exchange. Too bad for me. Moving on, I did find it hard to get an even spread on each nails. Unlike Winter Holly, this polish has a tendency to clump up making the tips of my nails rather bulky, I suppose its most noticeable on my index finger. And like Winter Holly, this too has a matte-like finish (refer above picture, without topcoat) and glitters being glitter, they are gritty. But I'm happy to say China Glaze Water You Waiting For is a two coater.

However, I do not appreciate its natural matte-like finish so I applied a topcoat and loved it more! Now it has that nice dark shadow depth that I saw and love from the looks of the bottle! :) With results like that, the fussy application was worth it (yet removal is unfortunately another torture, hahaha!).

Lacqueerisa: China Glaze Water You Waiting For & China Glaze Fairy Dust

Do you see the sparkles? Another reason why I got this bottle of polish is so I could layer China Glaze Fairy Dust over. I have been lemming over scattered holographic polishes, particularly blue ones like piCture pOlish Cosmos, piCture pOlish Freya's Cat, and recently seen Zoya Dream.

Though the sparkles didn't appear much in camera, in person.. its crazy sparkling! Absolutely eye-catching in every light angles! Their comb sure makes me a proud owner of these two polishes! If you do not have China Glaze Fairy Dust, Essence Space Queen is a great alternative. Essence Space Queen's holographic glitters are bigger, thus catches the light more compared to CG Fairy Dust.

To give justice to CG Fairy Dust, here's a macro-blurred out look so you can see just how sparkly it is! *Sigh* Results like these, makes me wish Christmas last longer than a day! So I can keep rocking all these holiday-ish sparkles! ♥.♥

While I'm still complaining (I don't think the complain will stop though) just how tedious it is to clean up glitters, here's a little sharing from me, which I think might be useful.

What's that? Well, a sharp end stick with a litte bit of cotton. Hahaha! I was trying to clean up the glitters from my cuticles with brush, but realised the bristles were too soft to push the glitters out of the way. So I resort to old-school method and it certainly is more successful.

And yeap. This concludes my post for today! I am actually a day late, this was suppose to be up yesterday, but it took me longer than expected to type all these. Hahahaha!! My Mum says I'm very 'cheong-hei' (cantonese dialect) - which means long winded. I don't think I can disagree I can't disagree, my siblings can testify to this although I'm not so sure if my friends can, some could though by small margin. I have noticed that (my cheong-hei-ness) a lot lately, too. Sometimes I try to shorten them, since they are repetitive and rather unnecessary (like what I just did) yet I can't seem to change it.. Hahaha! Since being long-winded means beating round the bush, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to see it as taking you round the area in hopes to give you full exposure. Hahaha! Don't know how you put up with me, but thank you so much for doing so! XD
