Garden of Roses

Hey everyone! This post will be one specially dedicated to showcase my mother's nails! Haha! We had quite a wonderful weekend. She got her nails done and a quick feet spa! And I won a pair of earrings! Hahaha! I was super happy to find out I was the winner. Eh, but my ears' holes closed a long time ago and I was too lazy to pierce them again. Sooo, those earrings that I've won, will be going to my Mom :)

The weather was good, it wasn't too hot and it was still bright. I took the opportunity to head out and photograph her nails outside. This is due to the incident that occur the previous time I tried photographing her nails with my lightbox. I heard a loud 'POP' when she squat! It was so scary! I'm glad she was alright! Which is why this time, I choose to photograph them outside (or you know, at least in standing position).

Who would have guessed that we had trouble finding 'location' and how to shoot or she should pose for the pictures. Hahahaha! I have done the flowers to face the 'wearer' when they close their hand, which is a pose my Mom struggles with. Aikes! Anyway, it was really fun. We were snapping away and laughing and had a really fun time trying to figure out what works and what don't.

Hahaha! I particularly like this shot! It was a pose she did right after saying, "Eh, take the thumbs! I like them" - with a big smile on her face! Hahahaha! Sometimes Moms are just so adorable that way :) By the way, this manicure inspiration came from a nail art I did inspired by Crabtree & Evelyn packaging which I will be talking about in the next post.

Hehe! I really love seeing my Mom opening up more and more towards nail arts! Besides, this look really suits her - you know, warm, loving and motherly feeling :D Well, that's all for today! Although this look isn't entirely new, I hope you will enjoy them just as much as I have enjoyed the time I have with my Mom! ♥

Have a beautiful Monday! And I shall continue catching up with blog readings! >.<

  1. I love roses. Still haven't managed to achieve them myself yet. Did you do them yourself? I wasn't sure because you sounded like she had them done professionally, but then you mentioned you made them face the wearer.

My mother never wears nail polish. So boring. xD

The roses are absolutely gorgeous!! I'm positive your mother appreciated them!! Haha it's always hard to get people posing, she did a fine job though :)

  3. Hahaha! Roses are quite tricky. I always tend to think they'd be easier since I've had several attempts before, yet every time it just proves to be a challenge. But they are a joy to paint once you get the hang of it! :) Hehe, yeah, I did do them for her. So far, I haven't experience professional manicure, though I like to be as 'professional' as I can get when doing for Mom - she deserves it. I find it really hard to leave her in the hands of 'others'. Not sure if they'd be as delicate as they should be.

Oh believe me, my Mom used to be a non-nail polish wearer. It took years and constant influencing and persuading to finally get her to open up xD Hahahaha!

  4. Aww, that's sweet. xD Mums do deserve it.
Oh, okay. Super job, in that case. They do look very professional! I'll have to keep practicing.

  5. Hehe, thank you very much! Hahah yeah she does! She even chose matching outfit to go with the nails! Yeah, it can get tricky, but it was part of the fun moments! Hahahahhaha we spent a great deal of time laughing xD Yeap, glad it turned out well in the end! :) I love her thumbs pose the best! ;D

  6. Hehe, thank you very much! :D Yeah they totally do! and much more! I hope yours will open up to nail polish soon as well ;)

Cause there was a trip we made to Hat Yai and thought we'd go for manicure & pedicure there. I won't consider this a professional since I'm not too sure if it's valid or not. Anyway, I had a bad feeling when we entered, like we shouldn't go. But I brushed the feeling off and went anyway. The manicurist who attended to me was okay, but I only did pedi; a simple one. Then I went and see the process with my Mom's.. gosh the lady that attended to her was horrible. She totally clipped off part of her toe's flesh and she was bleeding while the manicurist continued on as if nothing happened! Horrifying! After seeing that, I decided to not have my Mom's fingernails done. So in the end, we only did pedi.. It was since then, I'm very skeptical leaving Mom in the hands of others. =/

  13. Hi Lacqueerisa's Mom! Nice to see you here again ^-^
Your day sounds so wonderful. It's always great to spend time with your mom, moms are so hardworking for us children, they deserve the best the world has to offer. I really love how the nail art turned out. It looks so beautiful!
Hahaha My mom is sometimes pretty awkward with "posing" as well. xD But she loves nail art as well. ^.^ Hope this won't be the last time we see your mother ('s hand) here hihi
btw congratz on winning the earings, even though you don't get to wear them =D

  14. Hahah Mom says Hi too :D Ahh, it was a great day! Yeah, I totally agree with you - Moms had the toughest jobs in the world! Haha, it's understandable since they hadn't practice or seen enough to visualised the pose in their head for the brain the compute.. Hahaha! But I'm sure with few more practices, they'd be sure to master it! xD Maybe even derive a new one for themselves, eh? Hehehe! Oh, this definitely won't be the last! ;D

Hehe! Thank you! Yeah, it was a random try. I did not expect I would have won. Yeap, though I don't get to wear them, it still feels good winning it :3 Hahahahahhaha!
