Well, well...

Good Morning everyone! Today's post is one I debated for awhile - the same one that I had somewhat hinted, few days back. I suppose if you're a blogger and you are reading this, you would agree that blogging isn't as easy as it seemed. Preparing a post could very well be time consuming - the planning process, the execution, preparing contents, the editing, yada... yada.. Basically, there's a lot that goes into the making of one single post just so that the content would be something worth reading (sorta).

So what happens when you received an email from another requesting you to guest post and you took the time and effort despite in busy situation, to meet with the scheduled time only to realised, he/she has probably changed his/her mind and no longer wants to post your stuff? I may seem like jumping into conclusions, it can't be helped, really. It's been almost 3 months since the scheduled date and up till now, there's no updates or whatsoever. Assuming he/she isn't interested anymore... why ask if you are not sincere about it? Hahahah! Besides, the scheduled date was set according to mutual agreement. So.. I don't know. But here's what I think, in my humble opinion, if one wishes to extend the date or has decided my content is not worth it anymore, is it not a common courtesy to notify me? Or are common courtesies so rare these days its not common anymore? (quoting my nephew, he has a valid point there hahaha!) Lols. I sincerely hope such people are not in a mindset of when time goes by things or situations will just fade away...slide away and slip away and far away...and disappears..... *poof!* o.O

*Ahem* There's no way that's going happen, at least, not here. Think about what exactly is being wasted. The poor nail art which didn't get to see the light of day. Now, I know its no big deal. Just a nail art. That is true. But I do not appreciate having something I did which I can showcase here (noting the days when my blog doesn't have contents, haha!) going through decaying process in another's hand. Kinda pity, don't you think? Hahahha! Okay, putting my randomness and my rambles aside, my core message here is: Don't ask for guest post if you are not serious about posting other's stuff. Don't waste their time and don't waste your time. Period.

Nevertheless, I am extremely grateful to all of you who have taken your time and given me the privilege to guest post over at your blog. Thank you all very much :) Alright then, let's get to the nail art, shall we?

Lacqueerisa: Graphical Lines & Triangles

So drawing my inspirations from here together with some kind of graphic design lines in my head, blended together I came up with this look.

Lacqueerisa: Graphical Lines & Triangles

Well, I was going to copy & paste what I have written before, but reading back and looking at this now, my feelings then and now has changed. This is why usually I don't 'store' nail art looks, the mood I had when it was created would somewhat vanish or change (exactly what I meant by 'expired nail art') lols.

Lacqueerisa: Graphical Lines & Triangles

Okay so, one thing that stays the same is that this nail art do give me that cloudy day feeling (I'm pretty sure it was cloudy the day I created this). Haha. Must the grey background doing, huh? :) Either way, turns out this really looks like a wall in my opinion. Lol! It's based on minimalistic ideas, keeping everything to a minimum of just a few colours and simple design.

Lacqueerisa: Graphical Lines & Triangles

The process is very simple. Painted two coats of warm grey for the bases. Used a black liner/striper to draw random lines on just certain areas of the nail plate. Then, using a sponge I dabbed sparsely an off-white onto the nails, overlapping a little bit of the black stripes for that bit of 'scattered' effect. Followed by drawing of triangles with a nail art brush. Finishing off with a top coat.

Lacqueerisa: Graphical Lines & Triangles

Haha! There you have it, my wordy-wordy post. Hahaha! Eh, turns out this post didn't sound as bad as I thought it might. So hopefully you do enjoy this nail art, despite it being few months old. Hahahaha! Yeap, that is all for today. I will be showing swatches in the next coming posts :)

  1. I'm so sorry that this happened to you, and I know blogging is a long long process, and word should be kept if it was mutual agreement. It's pretty rude of whoever this person is, because he/she wasted your time, but nonetheless the art you did looks amazing! :) cheer up doll.

  3. No one asked me to do guest post yet but can absolutely understand your disappointment!! Why ask?! And this nail art is gorgeous! I like it very much! It's his/her great loss!!

  4. If someone asks you to guest post and you go to the trouble to do so, the least they can do is inform you if they need to reschedule it/itself. It could just be an oversight, but it's really bad etiquette. u.u I'm sorry you had that experience.

Hey... you just posted on my blog while I was here posting on yours. xD

Anyway, really awesome nail art. It reminds me of modern art, kind of? I think it would make a nice bedspread of cushion design too. xD

  5. Hahahha! I just noticed too! I would have posted earlier, was typing halfway then Sparky seem to be demanding attention (not really, but it seems she isn't too well. Was going to take her to vet, but today's public holiday T.T I hope she can bear another day)

Yeah, well that just goes about saying how 'responsible' he/she is. It's not too bad of an experience, just complete waste of 'waiting time' hahahaha! I even almost forgot about this nail art >_> until I was looking into my whole folders. Hahaha! Thank you!! Kinda happy this nail art finally up here. I'm glad you think so as well! And yeah! Pillow cushion and bedspread would be so cool too XD

  6. Haha! Aw Ana, I wanted to let you know at a later time, but expect one in the future! I'm doing a monthly feature, and I do have a jar where I put names of bloggers/blogs to pull out when the time comes. So it's a random order. Hehe! ;)

Oh well, at least I get to put it here, right? ;D Hahaha!! Thank you! I'm glad to hear you like it :D

  7. Ohh, I think I have a similar one asking me too - is it a monetized website? I wonder if it's the same..;) Oh but if they didn't, shouldn't be too bad since the traffic would still go to your blog - so it's kinda good! ;) Aww, thank you so much! I'm glad you love this :D

  8. Oh no worries! I'm in a fairly good mood. I thought I'd be mad and all, but it may not be a good experience, but still an experience. In life, every little thing counts, right? XD Hehe, thank you! I'm happier now knowing so many of you like the nail art ♥

  11. To be honest one time I slipped up on dates when I had a guest poster! The girl e-mailed me the day it didn't go up wondering what happened& I apologized profusely!!! I had too many things on the go (I had a nail art challenge once a week, and I had returned to work full-time, not to mention 2 kids). In the hussle & bussle one poster got missed & something else went up on the agreed day. I did a special post apologizing to her, and (on her request) didn't post her work. She did, however send me a completely new post (written for the new selected date-which I am happy to say I DID NOT miss lol). Anyways! What I am getting at is maybe it was legitimately missed? Could you e-mail and ask what happened?? Luckily for me it all turned out OK.

  12. I forgot to add, I love your funky abstract nail art! :)

  13. hahaha eh don't over stress yourself >.< I can't promise you how soon since it's a monthly thing. But don't worry, if your name gets pick, I'd be sure to let you know around a month ahead - so lots of time to prepare :D

  14. Hi KLenz85 :) Thank you for the compliment as well as your sharing on this issue. I do give the benefit of doubt to the person. My message is mainly for those who are new to guest posting and have plans in future to have guest posters over at their blog. Although that probably didn't come across well. (Aikes!)

It's good to hear that you have handled the issue well, kudos to you and her :) However, I have a rather different view. I don't see why I should remind the person of his/hers responsibilities. Especially one that they impose on themselves. Because worse come to worse, I could just post it up on my blog as I did now. Nothing to lose, really. But to be fair, I did drop a hint about it which, the person did picked it up and mentioned for another week more - that's two months ago. So... if he/she is too busy, I don't want to pressure anyway.

I'm very glad you love the nail art :D Thank you again ^.^

  15. That sounds pretty annoying. It's understandable if people are too busy to post something, but if it's a guest post I do think it's common courtesy to notify the person who wrote it. I mean, how much time does it take to say 'hey, sorry but I'm not going to find time to post it, go ahead and use it for your own blog'?
Never happened to me, luckily. Although I would probably end up on the other side, being too busy to ever write the post :p
Anyhow, the nail art is very interesting, it does look cloudy :)

The look is really nice, gotta love those triangles. I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you and I totally agree with your nephew, it seems manners are not priority anymore. Personally I am so anxious and if that happened to me I would just be on edge. It's a waste of time and effort for you, good that we got to see it today though. Hopefully this won't happen again to you (or any other bloggers!!) :)

  17. I'm really speechless.
It is a lot of work to do a post and you're totally right, it is common courtesy to at least inform you when plans have changed. And NO! It is kinda a big deal. Because we readers who genuinely enjoy your nail arts couldn't see this greatness earlier :(

Glad you've decided to show it now. I think it's one of your best ones! Even before you mention it I thought of it as minimalism. You're great when it comes to artistic designs. I especially love the grey background and the spongy part, it's unexpected and makes the whole look interesting. Probably it's this grey, plus the spongy part makes it look cloudy? Hmm.... :D

  18. I just want to add that I completely agree with you & everything you mentioned. When I dropped the ball on my end of the guest post I felt so (SOOOO) bad. I was just trying to offer another perspective. But you are right, and I agree 100%. By now the other blogger should have made every effort to reach out to you and at, the very least, thank you for your contribution. (especially such a cute look!).

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh no worries! I totally understand :) And I am really appreciative of the input you have put here. It's good for others to read, and possibly learn from you too ^.^

Hahah, perhaps it's good that the person did thank me for the contribution, just it didn't make it to their blog. Lols! So at least, not soo bad XD Hahahahha!

    Thank you again :D

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hahaha, yeap yeap. You said it! :) It's not a pleasant experience, but not all bad. I'm glad you didn't have to go through this :) Hehe, thank you very much! ^.^

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hahaha, exactly! Sadly though, the latter did happen. So after 'monitoring' for sometime.. (lols, I feel like a stalker =.=V) I decided to write a little bit about this in hopes in future, other bloggers wouldn't do this mistake. Hehe, I'm glad you like it, Yun! Thank you very much! Eh, it did? I was thinking more of 'wall textures' when I did that though. Hahaha! But yeah, now that you mentioned it, it does looked like clouds! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha, high 5 for triangles! xD And thank you! Although I didn't have that much of good feeling about this mani when I typed this post, all the wonderful comments from everyone here, really helped me get into the mood again! ;D

Yeah, and I wonder why. By showing manners, it means one's showing respect. And when one's showing respect to another, one also gains respect from another. Haha, okay I'll stop here or else I'd be drifting to a whole different topic. Lols!

It is disappointing that this happened, nonetheless I think we need not worry too much since I do believe chances of such re-occurrence is pretty slim, considering most bloggers are passionate about connecting with like-minds, and it wouldn't make any sense to jeopardize their own reputation :) Ahh, yes hopefully no one else have to face this issue. :D

  23. Haha! Aww thank you so much Anhy for your tremendous support ^.^ I'm truly fortunate and blessed to have followers like you ♥ And yeap! I think even if he/she decides not to post anymore, they should still build up the courage to send a simple message so I won't be pointlessly waiting =/

Oh~hoos! Me too! I don't like keeping manis too long, it spoils the moment =/ Yay!! That's really great to hear - since it would totally mean the mani was a success ^.^ Thank you!! Hahaha! Now that there are many comments mentioning 'cloudy', I'm having an image of fluffy whipped cream sprawled all over mouth/face in my head! XD hahahaha!! (erm, maybe I'd take that as a hint that I'm probably hungry.. or craving fluffy food?? :P)

oh, once I was asked about the guest post, one girl asked me to make a portrait of her (since I'm drawing rather nice). I've found this idea really interesting and I've made a guest post for her, as soon as I've had her portrait done. I have no idea if she really liked it or not, but she just didn't keep the promise and didn't blog about it as we agreed. I don't really care about her act, however It took much time and efforts to prepare that guest post. I've got to say I understand you perfectly well! What a pity people are not so good as they seem sometime!
Coming back to the nail designe I must say this one is fabulous, I have no idea how you manage to draw such things on a tiny nail))) You are truly talanted! Thank You for sharing such a nice post!
Wish you a blessed day ahead!

  25. Omgosh! She totally wasted your time! Portraits are hardwork, much harder than nail art, in my opinion. That's true, it's really disappointing meeting people such as her. All the more happier meeting one such as you :)

Thank you so much! Aw, you're being too modest! It's just like drawing with technical pencil (not really, but similar feeling, tiny tips and details) ;D Blessed day to you too! ♥
