Swatch & Review: The Face Shop Part 1

Heellloooo!! I had plans to put up a whole big compilation of all 6 The Face Shop Nail Polishes that are kinda new in my stash. But well, I fear it might be too long a post. So, I am breaking them up into two parts. They are by no means shown in 'collections' series. I have no idea actually, cause I haven't been paying much attention to The Face Shop's Nail Polishes since the previous ones I have got gloopy pretty quick, not to forget it was streaky and difficult to work with. But I'm a curious person, I just needed check out nail polishes to see if I may find something I like. As expected of any nail polish addict, once we stepped into a store with nail polish we'd be loitering around there for hours (or minutes if the space is kinda small :P) just seeing if there's any colour we'd be interested in picking up. I tried on a few and... whoaaaaaaa whatttttt? Looks like their formula has improved! Their brush totally feels much softer compared to before and application process was fuss free! Not as pleasant as Etude House's Dear My Nails Collection but good enough. And there are quite some varieties to pick from! What a bonus!

The Face Shop Nail Polishes
The trios of Part 1!

The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex OR207

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop OR207

Starting with The Face Shop OR207, a papaya orange milky creme shade. To be honest, I don't remember why I got this shade. Its not even neon nor is it neon peach shade nor anywhere close. Lols! However, it is strikingly bright. And I'm really puzzled that I added this into my stash as I already have quite a number of similar orange hues. Similar not same - haha!!

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop OR207

Well, its not a bad addition considering the fact that I did find it useful having this particular shade which seems like a perfect ratio of red hue, orange hue and pink hue (so yeah, kinda papaya-ish?). I have used it in several nail arts (I think?).

Anyway, on my nails are two coats on its own without topcoat. Application wise, pretty smooth, easy to control and fairly pleasant. I think it is good, for the price paid (MYR 5.90). To me, any polish that applies smoothly and opaque in two coats, is a good polish! Hehe! :P

The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex GR508

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop GR508

The Face Shop GR508 is what I would consider as medium milky green shade. A little on a dusty side. But overall a beautiful bright medium green kind of shade which I did not have in my collection. I had a hunch I'd be needing/wanting it in future so I bought it. Lols!

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop GR508

I did not buy it in vain! Hahaha! I did find it useful to accomplish my Crabtree & Evelyn inspired nails, (sadly, I didn't win but it was a fun try :D). Back to the shade, it is a creme polish with super glossy finish! Just like The Face Shop OR207, application was nice and fuss free! :)

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop GR508

Another easy two coater for opacity polish. Shown in pictures are swatched without topcoat. So you get the idea of how smooth the application went and just how glossy they are! I'm really pleased with their new formula and brush quality. Definitely will be buying more colours from The Face Shop again ^.^

The Face Shop 01 Grape Juice Yogurt

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt

Surprise! -- Not! Here's another yogurt nail polish collection in my stash! What's more I love how matching the name of this polish is to the shade of it! I have always been a firm believer of names that matches or made sense rather than 'just for fun' kind of names. Sure, they can be fun but they have to have something that justifies the name otherwise the name wouldn't make an impression. Sorta.. Hahaha!!

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt

So The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt, is a pastel lilac crelly shade, deliciously blended with wide array of glitters of yellow-gold hexes, magenta hexes, light blue hexes, purple hexes, pink hexes and tiny purple hexes. Also there are enough amount of glitters that goes into the polish, making each coat rich with glitters and spreads out nicely. No fishing is required.

Lacqueerisa: The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt

In pictures are three thin coats of The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt on its own, with no topcoat. Although opaque on third coat, its a little streaky. But compared to Lemon Candy Yogurt, The Face Shop Grape Juice Yogurt is a lot more easier and less streaky. Overall, it is a decent polish. Hahaha, I can't seem to get the cupcake/ice-cream images out of my head while having this on my nails! XD I suppose it will make a great polish to use for such nail arts :)

Hahaha, my goodness. I'm glad I have decided to take time to swatch up my stashes (more to come!). Can't believe the number of oranges (and their similarity..) I have already in my stash, a growing number of lilacs and increasing number of greens. Greens however, are justified. Last year, when I was attempting Christmas inspired nail arts, I realised I lacked green shades to choose from. Are there any colours that you find yourself incline to buy although it is not a favourite colour? Alrights, that is all for today. Stay tuned for part 2! ;)

  11. It happens to me with pinks -.- I have way too many pink polishes and many of them are really similar (but not the same as well! haha) But then again, can a girl have "too many" polishes? I guess not. My fav is Grape Juice Yogurt. Very pretty. And whatsmore, the name!! haha I'm a sucker for good polish names (the other two don't even really have one, do they?)

  12. Hahaha!! I have a lot of mint ones too and my blue is... always forever ever growing. LOLS! Yeah, I thought they might have, even after a few hours of searching I couldn't find. Yay, glad you're loving the yogurt one too! ♥

Uh, yeah. Also, they have very similar codings sometimes, which is something I wish The Face Shop would improve on. More unique codings, otherwise give them all a name! Lols! It's easier to search and find polishes that way! :/
